One trick if you use foobar is to search for "%LENGTH% GREATER 300".

In the end, it's quite a qualitative thing, unlike rounds 2, 3, Ex, so I ended up loosening the requirements and accepting most entries after all.

Someone posted the Ranma song I was going to use for my round 3 submission but I'm glad someone remembered that song. (Actually it might not strictly satisfy the winter-sounding requirement despite being for Christmas).

Anyway round 3 has one of the easiest requirements if I interpret them correctly. There must be jillions of such songs, but I haven't found any good ones I like yet. I had chosen that Ranma because it was pseudo-Christmas themed and at full length exactly 5:00 as a bonus. All my planned remaining entries had a winter or Christmas theme (though I don't know if any would be accepted).

Is SIRIUSs still going to play? He hid after making the first post. I think he should come back. And where did man19701111 go?

I like Iruna Etelero a lot too and have the same opinion. However when I had watched the anime, I think that song might have annoyed me, as I struggled to get through that show. (I often purchase blu-rays based on picture of girl, while having no idea what the show is like. She didn't wear swimsuit and I got very bored).

What a masterpiece. Though I only recently noticed that it makes use of 3 extremely common progressions (anime progression at 0:32, canon at 0:47, anime again at 1:09, komuro at 1:22). If this song were longer, it would easily satisfy both round 1 and 2. FD goes through 4 key changes, from G to A to A# to B to C# with the last 3 key changes squeezed into the last chorus (and the bridge but let's count it as the last chorus), creating such a feast of energy.

What a song. I really like this one. This is the round 2 winner unless someone can topple it.

When I was listening to that song I got that feeling that it vaguely reminded me of another anime song. I felt it was a song not on my hard drive but from some show I had watched in the last couple years. I thought it might have been Rabbit Teahouse so I searched your links. Turned out it was this:

3:15 I wouldn't call it a verse but rather a bridge (or middle 8, but people have a lot of ways to call this section and they are not consistent all the time). 4:11 is last chorus. I tend to call outro the part that comes after the last chorus (4:51). If you are planning to do round 2 as well, then starting at 4:11 there is a key change. The easiest way to detect is an obvious change in the tone of the whole song, and the vocals (become higher).

Held a music appreciation session with my friend yesterday and we both agreed that this is the new Z2 winner. Totally not because we are suckers for Lia's voice. No, there's no key change here. You are mistaking the transition technique with a key change. The quickest way to check is to compare 5:16 with 2:50. Both are pretty much on the same key, having the same notes. The outro is written too differently for me to check if there's a key change without booting up my app and I'm too lazy to do it. But,

Now that I think about it, round Ex seems difficult as hell. Long and slow songs are abundant, but long and fast songs require a very specific background to get ahold of (music game veteran). Right off the top of my head, I can think of over 20 songs longer than 7 minutes and slower than 100BPM but only 3 songs faster than 200BPM. Might need to cut the number down a bit.

Have tons of songs to choose from but haven't found any I really like so I will delay my round 3 submission while I continue to search. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SWShKHlUEs is possibly my #1 favorite song of all time which could work for either round 2 or 3 but it doesn't qualify as the uploader tampered with the length.

In contrast, my hard drive collection was very weak in the type of song requested for round 2. I could only find several songs and liked none. No one else had "traditional" round 2 submissions like I'd expected, either (basically like the cheesy example).

I mean, I don't really mind checking but there're only 24 hours for round Ex and the time lag between a post and my confirmation will make it difficult to revise an entry so it's best to have a good idea of the tempo before submitting.
Most songs are quite straightforward and you will extremely rarely encounter anything >300BPM where tempos become something not so clearly defined so double time is usually a non issue. Unless you go into some extra weird territory and stick to basic ani pop songs, it should be trivial to detect the tempo.
