There are extra steps for the setup in the OP that are easy to miss, in any case what you have to do to solve that is:
and the place to get this information whenever you need it is within the css itself (the part that was pasted into Stylus). For further tweaking of colors you can do it from Stylus directly, just gotta enable the live editing or whatever is called and you can see what color you like best for what setting if there's already a rule, or add new custom ones if necessary.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, if that doesn't work remember to type in "hentaiverse.org" at the bottom where it says "applies to [URLs on the domain]" and going back and forth between alt and normal HV can have issues if you don't dump your settings in both domains. Particularly an issue when doing popup Random Encounters. Won't work with the Monster Database script or HV Battlestats either so probably needs an extra rule for those.

HVUtils had a big update recently and as expected it broke some stuff, fixed it so might as well share.

(Made some own changes to the color of "visited links" and a sub-font color in the forum since i had trouble with contrast. Since im trying to adapt that style to use on the rest of the site aswell)

Gotta use a user styles manager (similar yet different to Tampermonkey which is a userscript manager) via a plugin/extension/addon or whatever they're called in your browser that allows you to apply the css of your choice to the sites you want. The tested one in this thread and a rather popular choice is named "Stylus", which after install merely needs you press "Write new style", then copypaste the contents of the provided css (or just press Import) and lastly press "Save" to get it working, along with the extra stuff posted here. And that's all.

Just like with scripts there's a variety of stylesheets out there that do many things to many sites so could always get more use out of the styles manager if you so wish.
