I'm really loving these changes but I do with there was still a way to view the /g/ link in unpublished galleries. I liked using that for proofreading and to make sure stuff would look ok on the site

Bronze star donation would be a solution for you, I guess. That give you, as previously mentioned in this thread, the option to publish 'private'. Such a private gallery can only be seen by you or by those that get the link from you (and admin of course). Donating is overall a good investment if you like using this site, so why not?

The L2 (caching) image servers have now been switched over to the new codebase. This mostly affects how images are fetched and stored on the backend. Let me know if you encounter any issues with missing images or similar for images not loaded over H@H.

Minor change: If the category is set to "Image Set", the language is ignored if it is set to "Speechless" or "Text Cleaned". Similarly, if the category is set to "Game CG", the language is ignored if it is set to "Speechless". Note that it allows you to set it, it's just ignored when publishing. This only affects the uploader, the tags can still be set manually if they are really warranted.

Image resampling has now been switched from the old resamplers to the new uploaders. Let me know if you spot any issues with resampled images, particularly on new galleries.

Thumbnail syncing from the old uploaders to the thumbnail servers has also been turned off, so this now relies entirely on the new sync mechanism.

Was the change of default category in the new uploader to Douiin from Misc intentional or just happenstance? Misc feels like a better catch-all until someone in vig notices and starts a reclass imo.

It's just the most common category.

In old uploader right clicking and open ”open image in new tab” will open to resized version, but now doing it directly without left click will only open its thumbnail
Have you consider to make that resized preview resoltion accesible via right click directly?

Not really sure what you are asking, but you cannot get the original resolution unless the image doesn't qualify for a resample, and it is not and will not be possible to open an image from an unpublished gallery in a separate "page". You can of course use the browser function to open the image itself in a separate tab, but I'm not sure what the point is.

The gallery post-publishing processing, which primarily involves generating the small thumbnails, has now been moved to the new uploaders. Among other things, this will generally make the small thumbnails available much faster than before, often before the gallery has been indexed and shows up on the front page, depending on gallery size and post-processing backlogs. Let me know if you spot any missing thumbnails or similar.

The file sync to the old uploaders has also been turned off now, since they are no longer used for anything. This should bring the "backend sync" part of gallery uploading back to the normal speed.

The "uploader thumbnail servers" (ul.ehgt.org) are now phased out; thanks to the new syncing mechanism, all thumbnails can now be loaded from the main thumbnail servers immediately.

Since the uploader thumbnail servers are no more, the one-hour "Asia delay" for new galleries has finally been removed.

I did have a handful of images that the thumbnail was not present after the zip file was processed
The image was there, but was an empty space on the thumbnail page, prior to publishing the gallery

There's nothing wrong with the gallery. Turn off your adblocker.

Thumbnails are now pushed to the standard thumbnail servers immediately rather than as a scheduled background job. The uploader thumbnail servers will be retired together with the old uploaders, and the "Asia delay" will be removed when this is done.

Is there no quick way to use the "Show all galleries with this file" option from the uploader interface anymore?

I'm assuming the hash is in the image URLs somewhere, but this function was useful to quickly check if a gallery was previously uploaded.

Not exactly, but you don't even need to upload an image to check if a gallery is using it. You can either grab the hash from the thumbnail URL (like ehgt.org/76/b3/76b3ea927ddc39d2154418e873c50a9ea80743bf-245961-560-420-jpg_l.jpg) or use whatever local tool you want (cygwin + sha1sum or 7zip or whatever) to get the SHA-1 hash on the image, then plug it into the file search URL.

Yeah, I wasn't sure exactly where it was placed. Thanks for confirming!

My point is moreso that the exact searching is less convenient/accessible to the average user than before, especially when it seems that everything is already in place. I could be wrong though.

The uploader image preview was never really intended as a fully-featured replacement to the normal image viewer, it's just necessary because the normal image viewer doesn't know about unpublished galleries in the new system. Linking the file search from the uploader preview is trivial; the issue is it doesn't have any UI bits to attach it to, and adding that would take some non-trivial work. I might do a pass on that at some point, but probably not right now.

There's nothing wrong with the gallery. Turn off your adblocker.

It says "Showing 6 results", but only 3 are displayed. Maybe disowned galleries are still being counted, but not displayed?
Adding "Only show galleries with torrents" changes it to "Showing 3 results" and none displayed.
