QUOTE(Panuru @ Mar 27 2010, 23:54) People aren't paying attention when it's said in text, so I made a graphic. (IMG:[ i267.photobucket.com] http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii304/TuxedoMonkey/logo3.png) So you say, but by censoring based upon content it's inevitable that that's where it will end up. Like I and several others on this board have said the majority of amine characters are considered underage and any sexual depictions of them would legal be classified as lolicon. If advertisers are pulling out because of the content here throwing them a bone and getting ride of the more obvious and risque portions will only work so long. The will inevitably ask (I use ask in a very lose way) for more and more. Giving into censorship like this is a losing battle. Don't get me wrong I appreciate the predicament that Tenboro is under, he has a site to host, and that can't happen with out some advertiser revenue. But giving into censorship like this just hides the issue. They will ask for more stuff to be removed as time goes on. Mark my words, they wont just stop here.

It seems like moderation of tagging is helping already. A Zero no Tsukaima doujinshi recently uploaded was blocked, isn't now. Abusive tagging of course, when the only people you see in the work had enormous breasts. If it's going to be that easy that a gallery gets blocked and has to be brought back by a moderator, what about a preventative measure that stops this before it even becomes an issue? Like some said a few pages back, making it one of those magical tags that require a lot of votes.
I dunno, just something to try to keep sanity, order, and control while everyone freaks out or trolls.

QUOTE(cowpies @ Mar 27 2010, 23:48) I plan to sit in the corner, huddled up into the fetal position, and just cry. Everyone just needs to chill out a bit and let Tenboro figure something out. I seriously doubt he's happy with this, either. But needless complaining isn't going to change anything at the current time. Except Rad. I think Rad should just let it rip and lay into the people here for our amusement (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Maybe your right complaining isn't going help much and I know I was complaining a few hours back but calm down a little, it like the other posts it g.e-hentai yet. So please have a little faith

I have a lot of faith, but being unable to see Inuboshi's kawaii artworks takes a huge toll on it.

Incest is gone too, oh god WHY! Every site i go to starts to regulate it's content which slowly turns it into not so good site anymore (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) And ishikei's mikan is gone too, that was quality content. Sure, but I consider hiding those galleries for now and figuring something out to be a better tactic than dumping the advertisers immediately. QUOTE(NaiOni @ Mar 27 2010, 17:22) I hope you two realise that he finished with;
Yep, the current model just jumped the shark. Something's gonna get rejiggered, but the site will go on. Hell, it already rose from the dead. This post has been edited by Panuru: Mar 28 2010, 00:30

QUOTE(kagekaromamoru @ Mar 27 2010, 17:38) is there anyway to negotiate the decision with the investors such as making a "decaf" site and a regular unfiltered version.... that way to appease those who are offended and those who want their loli's and beasty's?
....just an idea probably won't work
There is no one to "appease" or anyone just "offended". There are people who have come to this site to tear it down. See a post earlier about the gallery someone made, I think it was just last week, it was called "Repent" and had a single image of Christ on the Cross. It's the freakin fundies, extremists, taliban("religious student" is a translation.. incidentally the ones in Afghanistan are nuts..as I've been told by many an Afghan refugee), whatever you want to call them, I won't group them in with regular religious people who live their own lives. They had no business being on this site at all, in the name of "morals"

Strangely, the first thing that came to mind while reading the news here was "Shit. I remember there actually is a part of this site that doesn't start its url with 'g.' ". Not that I'm a fan of even the majority of the currently "banned" material, but, if I gotta pay a few bucks a year to keep it censor-free, then so be it. Otherwise, g.e-hentai will eventually become less and less mine and everyone one else's source for hentai, until it's not even worth visiting anymore.
It's pretty much given you can use the "slippery slope" argument on BOTH SIDES for centuries regarding this, so STFU. Just pay for your hentai. If we all do, it won't will be that much anyway, just like health care. ;P

This is more serious than you're letting on, Tenboro. For example, there were a number of books by Suehiro Maruo that were removed. This isn't just about lolicon. The censorship is more widespread. Rather than saying that 30K of 150K of "active galleries" were affected, perhaps it would be more helpful to the community to tell them how many Gb of material was removed.
I'm not going to say "I'm sorry you had to do it." Rather, I'm sorry you did it.

I think what's funny is, a lot of the people who visit this site do so specifically for the content which is now removed.
Off to a new site I suppose.

As mentioned in some other threads, there might have been some galleries removed because they matched too wide filter - for example cirmson comics matching *son*. I believe those issues are temporary and will be fixed. Be patient.
EDIT: And those who do take the trouble to read the whole thread will be rewarded.

I also think a cheap membership would work. Just give current members a grace period of a month or two and tell them you need a yearly membership of 2-5 dollars.
But really people don't get mad, the only ones at fault are the moral nazis who sent messages to the companies. They deserve pity, not anger. They are so unbalanced in thier lives that they have an overpowering urge to judge people and content, and go to obscene lenghts to lurk in places full of stuff they consider horrible to fill some sort of personal need. Personally I think its a sign of needing treatment than anything else.

I wanna throw shit bombs at these assholes who believe it their duty to tell others how many rights they should have, that is if I could penetrate the cloud of anonymity with pure omnipotence. I think I'd start with Rush Limbaugh as an example to others, though. The internet should always remain the morally-exempt cesspool that it is. It's the only reason why it's so useful. Anyways, for now, it looks like I'm gonna have to brush up on my megadownload search skills. oRZ. ED: I have a weird feeling that this is the result of an overflow of angst from the right over recent developments in U.S. legislation. U know, the kind of angst that has rednecks throwing bricks through windows. This post has been edited by h8GWB: Mar 28 2010, 01:18

QUOTE(Mant @ Mar 27 2010, 16:14) There's a point.
Why is incest gone?
Nearly everyone of the incest galleries has a loli or shota relative in them. For example mother/shota son or big brother/loli sister. There isn't much adult-age sibling sex here.

I gotta be honest with you Tenboro, did you actually talk to the advertisers and at least attempted to negotiate with them before you removed access to over 30000 galleries without warning? Did you even attempt to set up a system where people could donate money to the site? Did you even consider the fact that non-members who search for tags like "loli" or "shota" end up with no results, and members who did didn't have any banner ads?
If sites like Gelbooru, Desuchan or Notfourchan can host loli content and keep their advertisers in check without problems, how on earth can this site not do the same?
I'd like to ask this: What galleries were they complaining about? I mean, seriously--From the looks of things, it doesn't even seem like you even know the exact gallery they were complaining about, yet you just render inaccessible 20% of all the doujins, manga, artist CGs and game CGs off the site without telling anyone?
Any halfwit can look at a seemingly non-loli picture and mistake it for loli. How do you even know whether the complainers mistook non-loli content for actual loli?
Furthermore, what about the possibilty that child porn may have been posted here? The site has hundreds of galleries uploaded every day, and neither the mods, nor the reporting system, are perfect--Some illegal content may have leaked through. How do you even know whether those who "complained" to the advertisers actually complained about lolicon, or complained about some child porn images that had been illegally posted on the site? For all we know, someone may have reported on a child porn gallery that wasn't removed in time. Worse yet, the people who reported to your advertisers could have purposely planted the CP for the sake of reporting it to the advertisers or even your ISP. That happens with imageboards all the time.
Did you even talk to the advertisers? Did you even inform the advertisers of the fact that many people often come here to harass or cause harm to the site by virtue of the fact that it contains pornographic matieral?
I gotta be straight up and clear: Even though this was caused by the complainers and advertisers, I'm not paranoid enough to delude myself into thinking that the site owner isn't accountable in the slightest for the actual removal of the material, because this was done neither out of duress nor a legal court order--It was done because you decided to do this on your own will, as opposed to pursuing an alternative. It didn't have to turn out like this. You're not the only site owner that has had to deal with this sort of crap--There's so many possibilties that could have given rise to these complaints, and there are so many things that could have been done as an alternative to wiping all the loli content. It's not as if though you couldn't find new advertisers, set up a donation system alongside the ad providers that haven't pulled over, or found some other means to host such content, so why just give it up all of a sudden?
I thought you were better than this, Tenboro. Are you just going to leave a fifth of the site's material missing like this?
