Ugh, I really wish this had been an April Fool's joke after all. Yes yes, I know about g.e-hentai and everything else (since I've had the Ads-Be-Gone perk for months, I wouldn't have even noticed the change if I hadn't read about it).

The problem is that almost everyone else is still out of the loop. My latest translations have gotten less than 5% of the hits they would normally get. Thank God this is no longer the only place I publish them, or I'd seriously consider giving up the whole business.

No, but it is nice to know that people are enjoying them, and the hard work I put into translating wasn't wasted. When you're used to getting roughly 7-12k visits on your galleries the first day, it's a bit depressing to start getting a couple hundred instead.

you need donations to keep up the cost of running this place. OK makes sense.

and you rely on donations to do so, ok that makes sense to.

however people aren't donating so money is tight. that is understandable.

and your solution to this, is to penalize your own members and site by banning certain content?

now don't take this the wrong way good sir but bad idea's don't come any badder then that. if you are low on donations you must try to appeal to your members not attack them. a site and its admin that attacks its members is doomed to fall in my opinion and experience, and so far that is what i'm seeing.

Yes it is the internet and the internet demands that stuff be free, and thus donations are hard to come by. however, by doing this you will only be driving away a good portion of this sites members and even more donations. for all you know, a majority of the donations might have come from loli and shota fans, and now that you've removed it, you may have now just struck a blow to yourself.

don't worry, we're not going anywhere. As long as the donations keep up, we have enough money in the war chest to keep the wheels going for at least a year even without any ads at all. And at that point, it's easy to scale down the site to where donations alone can sustain it by cutting in the non-contributor traffic.

Either people don't read the thread at all, or they forget things so fast that by the time they click on post reply they forgot everything they just read..

nonono i didn´t say anything about the costs .. it was because of the comment before that there is just 1/5 of the previous server burden .. i just pointed out that the other page has a certain burden too ^^
