You should ask how bad Genshin Impact is. It is basically a low quality knockoff of "LoZ: Breath of the Wild", except that there are quite a lot of good-looking girls. Yes it is free but you can't really progress in-game if you don't do any microtransactions.

A very beautiful game with a lot to explore. The combat isn't particularly interesting to me, though.

It has beautiful world and good story with frequent updates but not much endgame content. So game can become boring when the most of world is explored and story completed. It may take 1-2 months to reach this point. After this point most of your activity is limited by daily/event quests and farming gear. Further more farming gear is limited by the energy that restores slowly.

I remember seeing that name when searching for a pc game like Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity for the part "let's slaughter large armies with a single character" (and free if possible).
But when I looked at images at gamefaqs (redid it just now to be sure of what I'm talking about), I didn't see big armies/monster groups, so I dismissed it (if it was fitting what I'm looking for, some screenshots should be very very obvious about it, even without displaying thumbnailed pics at their real size).
Too bad, the chara/world design seemed pleasant enough, at least compared to other things I dismissed during that same search.

I don't like games that are "free*" but actually cost money to have fun with past a certain point. I'd rather pay upfront one time.

A mediocre game at best.
like all mobile games paying is required to keep up later on..

The story is quite a letdown to be honest. But the gameplay is ok and the visuals are nice. Wouldn't recommend to the casual players

no problem in game-playing，clssiacl drawing method with the same gacha cost as the previous mihoyo games，if you like it，then have fun is ok. but some of the fans are really annoying ，causing a lot negative affect for the game.maybe the game can attract the selected people with similar characteristic and when they gather to someplace ，passers-by get disturbed，i think. It's alright, very grindy but decently entertaining.

Fanbase tends to be fucking cringe though, it attracted a lot of RPG players who aren't used to gacha and overstate how p2w it is, some don't seem to be used to the concept of a life service game either, a lot of them are demanding endgame content 3 chapters into the story. On one hand, yeah sure, gotta have something to do while waiting for the next update but at the same time we're not even halfway through the game, imagine you're playing a pokemon game and people are sperging out about the lack of battle tower access after getting 3 badges.

The quality of the game itself is above my passing line, but I don't think it's worth spending too much money

If you plan to be completely f2p, its gonna get grindy really quickly once you try to progress

For many chinese players, it is a shit. They hate these free games because they saw many bad ones
