Hello,

This morning I went back to my server closet and found that my VPN port forwarding address had changed on reboot and my H@H had failed to start as a result. After fixing the issue, I received the message:

Startup Failure: FAIL_IDENT_REVOKED; This client has been revoked, usually due to excessive downtime.

Logging into the forums I see that I have a message from yesterday informing me that the H@H connection had been down for more than 12 hours. This was the first message of this type I ever received.

I don't know how long I was offline for, but it couldn't have been more than a few weeks at absolute most. Am I no longer eligible to run H@H? Is there anyway for me to fix this?

Thank you.

Usually clients are revoked for having multiple downtimes that last over a month.
If you are planning to have it run with minimal downtime in future, you can PM Tenboro to get it re-activated.

Thank you, Tenboro, I appreciate it very much! Before I fire it back up, I'm going to take some time to research a better method for monitoring the client and minimizing future downtime.

Well, the site's own H@H alert system was only added a few days ago. The reason your client was revoked wasn't so much that it went offline as it was that it became unreachable, and this should now be detected and alerted automatically.

(Granted, if you add your own monitoring, it would likely alert you sooner. Any bog-standard HTTPS monitoring should work, really.)
