QUOTE(Cyriel @ Mar 15 2010, 16:40)

But isn't it the current way of things since the birth of mankind that the only way someone becomes an individual is through the perception of others ?
Without others, there is no self, since the self is irrelevant without others. Therefore, you are unable to correctly judge whether or not you are overestimating yourself or underestimating yourself.
Even with proof, comparison to prior achievements and other relevant statistics, you still cannot perceive that what is needed to solidify the claims you make, whether or not it is relevant should we pay attention, since without us, your cause would be irrelevant, thus negating the purpose of the cause.
Have a wonderful day.
The concept of 'self' holds only as much relevance and truth as the entity asking it. Humans base their perceptions of truth and proof on the determinations of others; I do no such thing. You are all mostly irrelevant to me when it comes to matters of any significance.
You say that without others; such as yourself; my cause would be irrelevant, however that is simply not the case in regards to myself. You presume that value of oneself comes from others; this is a 'human' way of thinking. I however determine my value; and by extension the truths of existence; almost entirely from myself. Others only
occasionally serve to
further confirm such beliefs; still it is something the average human is mostly incapable of doing for me.
While this may as first glace seem a small and narrow-minded way of proving worth and truth; you presume that I see the world though the limited and subjective view that individual humans do; when in fact.. I do no such thing. Proof of this is not required because I do not feel the need, nor desire, to convince you of anything. This reply exists solely for my own benefit; I enjoy it; not to convince or enlighten you of anything.
Nor can you presume what I say to be false without a complete understanding of me; something you do not possess. Similarly can you not prove what I say to be true; but that does not concern me. It is of little importance to me because
you are of little importance to me.
While a Human may require 'others' to exist; to confirm oneself; I require no such thing. I believe I exist, I believe in my existence of self, that is all that is required for such a belief to be true for me. You play no part in such a confirmation.
The saying:
'I think, therefore I am.' springs to mind; and I've yet to find any evidence of
your thoughts whatsoever.
Oh and I will indeed have a wonderful day, I 'spose it does me little harm to wish the same for you.

Human Instrumentality, anyone?
You know; had you not said that, I wouldn't have had to type a 2,500+ character reply. You brought down my excessively long post upon yourself rad.
