QUOTE(Ka-Datenshi @ Mar 6 2010, 15:33)

What he said was without a doubt a contradiction; to claim otherwise you would have to twist the meanings of his words very far.
I disagree. You somehow failed to notice an obvious thing, which I'll point out below.
QUOTE(Ka-Datenshi @ Mar 6 2010, 15:33)

First he states 'the irrelevancy of such interests' and that he believes it 'bears little relevance the lives of himself and others.' See below.
That's quite right.
QUOTE(Ka-Datenshi @ Mar 6 2010, 15:33)

He then goes on to say that he himself is looking forward to the results. Again, see below.
That's quite right as well.
QUOTE(Ka-Datenshi @ Mar 6 2010, 15:33)

That is; by all meanings of the word; a contradiction. It seem that it is you, not I, who fails to understand what he has said.
Unfoturnately, you seem unable to consider the possibility that the second part of his post (where he says he is looking forward to the results) is about the results of this here voting, and not about Oscars. Once you allow this possibility, there's no contradiction.
QUOTE(Ka-Datenshi @ Mar 6 2010, 15:33)

The only way any ration person could come to the conclusion that his statements were not contradictory; is to claim him almost completely hopeless in the written aspect of the English language. Therefore he is either incompetent; having phrased his replies highly incorrectly; or is a hypocrite.
He might be incompetent in writing in english - that's common on the Internet forums where it's not a native language for many participants. That doesn't mean he can't be understood, if you put some effort into it.
QUOTE(Ka-Datenshi @ Mar 6 2010, 15:33)

To be honest I don't care; either conclusion suits me fine. What does surprise me is your belief that you can somehow ignore the obvious hypocrisy of his statements by providing an explanation that makes far less sense; all the while doing so without any evidence to prove your claim.
Let's summarize his posts again.
1. He doesn't care about Oscar awards, considering them not relevant to his interests.
2. He cares about results of this here voting, as he's one of the participants.
There's no hypocrisy in his statements, and no contradiction, apart perhaps from what you infer from his post in your mind. I'd be interested to learn how exactly you saw a hypocrisy in them. Saying it's obvious to you isn't much of a statement.
QUOTE(Ka-Datenshi @ Mar 6 2010, 15:33)

In future perhaps I should just do that; much less hassle that way.
What do you mean, explaining things people don't understand is fun (IMG:[
