That's weird. Searching works now, but it didn't work at the time of my post here.

Probably has something to do with the caching.

So there was no intention to delist galleries. Then why a uploader:［Disown］ search only shows the recent week plus 30 empty pages? Technical issue or intended limitation?

Umm... well, that's actually a user who renamed themselves to ［Disown］. The 30 empty pages are just the disowned galleries from the user "［Disown］", which are "delisted" from this uploader-specific search for obvious reasons.

In other words, you just performed an uploader-specific search (i.e. show all galleries from the user "［Disown］") rather than a "show all disowned galleries" search. Though bear in mind that the latter shouldn't be possible to perform.

A legit disowned gallery should be "owned" by (Disowned), like this one.

Actually, as kaguya has said, "［Disown］"is a username, it's not "(Disowned)". You can click on that word to search for the uploader, which means it's not "disowned".

It might be better to add something to "No unfiltered results in this page range. You either requested an invalid page or used too aggressive filters." to tell the user that disowned galleries are not included in the search result?

Disowned galleries are only delisted from uploader searches, they can still be found through normal methods like tag/title searches. They need to be delisted from an uploader search, because not doing so would allow a method to discover the uploader of a gallery, which goes against the reason for disowning galleries to remove association with them. Pages of 0 results is a little awkward, but that happens with tag filtering etc too.

Yeah, what Shank just explained for me. It wouldn't make much sense if you can still perform a uploader-specific search on disowned galleries. That would just leak the identity of the original owner.

Not sure what's the point of performing a "show all disowned galleries" search, but I personally don't see a problem of permitting such action. Maybe just through uploader:(Disowned) instead of a community managed tag.

Not entirely sure how you come to this conclusion, but if I disowned a gallery yet people can still search it with "uploader:PrincessKaguya", it's a clear indication of me being the original owner, despite the system replaces PrincessKaguya with (Disowned).

Also if they are still searchable then it would still be possible to discover the original uploader, no? So if the uploader decided to disown the gallery because it was leaked somewhere, that link, once saved/indexed, will get you to the page where you'll be able to discover who was the uploader.

Having the disowned gallery link won't reveal any extra info regarding the uploader's identity. Unless someone jotted it down in their personal notes/database, which is outside of our control.

I remember that uploader and it feels wrong to sacrifice all his previous uploads for this feature. On the other hand, if it was his own decision then I can't complain.

The old name is back now by the way, so I assume someone is working on something.

Yeah. Disowning is basically just that.

I presume you want to change your current username to something else.

If that's the case, you will need to contact the administration directly, only him can change usernames on the fly.

BUT, without a proper way to navigate through these GIDs and without any kind of orientation or reference point,
this new GID system is barely usable or expedient. This clearly needs some improvement.

And please bring the option for the complete archive list back, which includes all results, visible, expunged, low power,...
