Couldn't instead of simply converting the credits into GP the credits actually get traded by GP through a transaction?

Could? Sure. But it would be way more complicated and way more expensive with regards to the load it puts on the database, so it wasn't really an option.

It seems the new mechanism doesn't accept Credits + GP combined? (Make sense, just want to confirm)
Edit: Yeah I know it didn't accept that before, but at first I thought it would actually "convert" Credits to GP. Now I realize it just applies a multiplier to Credits, thank you for replying.

I was wondering about the same gallery. Was the download price using "Credits" in the past the same as the GP download price now?

in the past if you didn't have enough GP you would be charged credits at a 1:1 rate. However, credits are worth more than GP so knowledgeable users would exchange their credits for GP to get a better deal.
The system now does this for you, but not quite as well (though usually within a few %) as you could do trading it yourself.

Has the "Source Nexus" hath perk been changed? I noticed its description becomes browse "most files" with the original version. And the cost now matches the "download original images" function, it used to count as 1 hit IIRC?

It was always "most files" after the file size limit was increased some years ago, the description just wasn't updated to reflect that, and some people complained because it didn't do what they thought it did.
And yes, it uses the same cost calculation as the original file download, though it always uses the image limit even for non-donators.

Excuse me for my question, but in the updates they already put "GP's" I mean, I'm not against it or anything like that, but I would like to know where you can find out how many you have or how I can find out how many gp I have in my account

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Jun 5 2022, 21:42) It will work like it used to by silently consuming GP if you have any, since it would be pretty awkward to have it prompt for a confirmation. But the cost is fixed and is the same as it would be when resetting image limits, so it should be fairly predictable.
I think it would be nice to have at least an option in the user settings to change this behavior and show a prompt for downloading (including the GP costs) or maybe show a warning somewhere near the link/at the bottom of the page. It might be obvious to you and anyone who browse the forum, but not for majority of users, especially if they missed news.

I don't think "the majority of users" use this function very often, so I doubt they'll notice the difference. Unless they are using some auto-download scripts, like ccloli's, which already have cost calculations.

QUOTE(Agoraphobia @ Aug 1 2023, 21:32) Available: 2,052 Credits MMMM I think I tried, but I still don't see how "A minimum Bid of 100C per kGP is always available and no Ask may be lower than 100C/kGP, effectively guaranteeing the minimum value of GP at 0.1C each." I put 1 kgp for 101C but nothing happened and I think the 100 is deducted ,,, I think I'm still just as lost even though I've already read the instructions... well I think I did what I could, thank you very much for the answer This post has been edited by GOMENASAI12: Aug 1 2023, 21:54

Currently the minimum price you will pay for 1 kGP (1000 GP) is 329 credits. It won't have been deducted unless the purchase was successful, which it would not have been at that price. In the "Buy GP" box, if you enter: Count: 1 Bid Price/kGP: 329 it will bid 329 credits to purchase 1 kGP (1000 GP). If the bid is successful, it will take 329 credits from you and give you 1000 GP.

[ postimages.org] (IMG:[i.postimg.cc] https://i.postimg.cc/Px3C0Mjd/cemas.jpg) NONONO wait... that wasn't there before....... SO... I have 7kgp = 7000gp, what do I currently have? Yes. Tho you don't need to do this any more the system will do it for you, but not at the best rate, Just a pretty good one. I have also sent you some credits. You can receive them by going to Hentiverse -> Bazaar -> Mooglemail finding the mail, and then retrieving the credits from it.

QUOTE(aklfhl @ Aug 1 2023, 12:09) I don't think "the majority of users" use this function very often, so I doubt they'll notice the difference. Unless they are using some auto-download scripts, like ccloli's, which already have cost calculations. Personally I'd second that - wanting some kind of warning or indication if we're in GP/credit mode vs image limit mode. Mostly because determining the cost of clicking that button has gone from very simple (consume image limit or error page) to much more complicated (are we peak hours, how long ago was it posted, is user a donator, does user have GP or convert from credits, etc) in the span of the last year. Mostly in the last month or so. ...I guess I never cared that much about it before, as my GP always sits at 0, so I'd just get an error page and go "oh guess I'll just do it later or tomorrow". Now that some galleries always cost though (meaning waiting is pointless), as well as the auto-conversion introduction, that's no longer really the case. Dunno what the best solution there is though. And yeah, most people probably don't care enough to warrant designing and implementing something super slick and fancy, like user prompts and warnings and other nifty UI stuff. Maybe just a checkbox in settings saying "Auto-consume GP or credits when (...)" (replaced with whatever the actual correct terms are). If checked (the default), behavior would be identical to right now. If unchecked - meaning the user explicitly opts into the "computer says no" thing - then trying to an action that would auto-consume GP/credits (like clicking the download source button) would instead just give you the same "whoops no image for you" error page as before, as if you had 0GP/credits. At which point someone would either flip the checkbox and retry, or just stop. In the meantime though I guess I just need to get better at figuring out and remembering what peak hours are in my local timezone, I suppose. And remembering to look at the post date. It's possible, just annoying, I suppose. (Maybe throw together a greasemonkey script or something; parse the post date and check the local time, and if it looks like it would cost, then... I dunno, recolor the gallery title text as red or something dumb. Dunno.)
