I worked with Joe from the start and was glad to have his help. When I retired from leading Clean-Up and Tagging, I was happy to have someone like Joe to take over for me and improve C&T even more and handling more EH work then I could ever handle.

You will be missed.

I'll be honest, even a month later the news of Joe's passing still leaves me in shock, and I have not really conveyed what I thought about it outside my own private thoughts. His presence in the community and contribution to the site was nigh immeasurable, and his absence will be felt by all who were able to work with or otherwise get to him. I'll miss talking to him in IRC and may he rest in peace, in both body and soul.

Even though I barely, if at all, talk in the forums...I knew who Joe was and his reputation as a reliable mod and a pillar of this place as time passed. I remember when even 4chan threads recommended people just ask him for credits if they were in a pinch since he was cool like that, during the Almost Erasure. At least from my experience, even with only intermittent news of the community he was consistently spoken of as an older brother.

Let's be thankful he was around for us. Let's remember him well.

Sad to hear

Like many others, my participation in the site has varied over the years/decade (!) and while I didn't have much interaction with Joe, but he was always professional and that's how I'll always remember him.


May he finally be at peace.

The man is a legend. Good lord... I hope his family pulls through, this is a really hard time of year to lose someone.

Unfortunately I didn't have the privilege of knowing Maximum_Joe personally, but I do know of him (the last time being when we were backing everything up like mad). Thank you for all the time and effort you've provided to the community throughout the years.

Maximum_Joe. As long as you frequent this site you are bound to become familiar with his name even if you're someone like me, who doesn't know the first thing about the guy. For all he's done I don't think calling him a legend would be exaggeration. I know I'm just a nobody talkin out his ass, but I thought I should give my piece just this once as someone who's probably benefitted from his contributions more than I'll ever know.
