Last time I maged, I just spammed cold. The slow lets you sneak in extra attacks and you take less hits per round. I was surprised it didn't get nerfed when cold sets became more popular.
The only threats are spirit attacks, and if you're gear isn't good enough to kill before you eat too many, silence is the one-hit wonder. (And sleep. And stun. And confuse. And blind.) Hence,
More difficulties only makes it longer, not harder. Tonbre should remove one or two levels and make the gap between them MUCH higher. Then you will NEED a strong, forged set to even stand a chance. He joked about nerfing things like silence before; he should actually do it next time. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Unless a new higher difficulty increases the amount of damage enemies are able to inflict at which point it becomes harder. or gives monsters higher resistances or immunites.
Speaking of challenge, how about a new set of arenas for the 300-400 level range? Don't make them schoolgirl marathons, because they aren't very fun; instead, each new arena in this set would have some kind of twist to hopefully make it challenging, or at the very least, different. For example, possible conditions could be
Reintroduce monster agitation, triggering at ~50% HP instead of 20% like before;
Each monster has a high chance of starting the round with full MP and/or SP;
Monster damage scales up 1-2% each round, like in Grindfest;
At the start of each round, one of Lamentations of the Future, Screams of the Past, and Wailings of the Present is cast on all of the monsters.
Monster damage scales up 1-2% each round, like in Grindfest;
Just make every arena harder by monsters' damage grow per rounds. PF T & T should not be easier than Hell GF. Of course, the drop bonus should be adjusted.

Well, maybe there could be a new difficulty setting with that feature. The starting difficulty could be equivalent to IWBTH, and the monster damage would increase by 1% each round (~2% in Grindfest). If the monster damage would grow per round on all difficulties, people would probably see it as a nerf because they would suddenly find themselves needing to lower the difficulty setting; it would also have to be somehow balanced for lower level players.
I would still like to see a new series of arenas, each with a unique condition, added for level 300+ players. It wouldn't detract anything from what was there before, and I think it would add some more variety. Of course, one issue with adding new arenas is whether Tenboro wants us earning more credits than we already can doing the arenas we currently have. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

Problem is, there isn't much left to do when you reach level 500 since you don't gain anymore experience and credits become meaningless.

Your idea about increasing difficult is interesting.
I think let monsters having more funny adventage other than simply increasing their HP or Damage Output may be a good way~ (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Yup since it only covers above Peerless gear it does not ruin trading in any way.
Arenas with stronger mobs would be a nice change too. After TT it is just Marathon after Marathon which is just boring not challenging in any way.
Imagine doing a grindfest or high round count arena and having a mob show up with some diablo 2 unique boss style modifiers
