make users pay credits to post on the forum: you get 10 freebies with dawn, after that you pay 1 credit for the 11th, 2 credits for the 12th and so on... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I think it would work... until someone had a problem with H@H or the galleries, and asked for help- after a few rounds of questions and random answers, they'd need to "pay" to continue getting help. Also, auctions. Props for effort, though. This post has been edited by destructorspace: May 15 2013, 02:03

The reason those threads exist for most people, I think, is so that they can actually get the Dawn EXP without actually interacting with others. Besides, it would break the forums very, very badly.

well the cost is nothing too expensive. i thought of this mostly as a psychological deterrent: if you feel that your posts cost you something you will make less useless ones even though the cost is really inconsequential. if you do the math you can see that the cost for 10 posts is zero, for 20 posts is 55, for 30 posts is 210, for 40 posts is 465, for 50 posts is 820 and you need 55 posts to go above 1k. i think auctions is the worst example you could have made since people bidding and selling items for figures of hundreds of thousands or millions couldn't care less for such a paltry expense. as far as i know you don't need to post to get dawn exp, just loading the e-hentai home is enough.

You need to post in the forums at least once daily for 20+ days in a 30 day sliding window to gain the full Dawn Exp bonus Dawn of New DayAnything over that would be just fluff

Yep, if you see me post in one of those, I either pulled something good, or just really could not find anything to say in one of the threads I normally work with. While to anyone here, 10 credits looks like jack all, it looks like a lot more to newbies who can't walk around with 400k in liquid assets and refer to themselves as 'semi-broke'.

isn't it better to just merge all the spam treads in one? "The Official Make Here Your +1 Tread"
this way treads that could be interesting for other users too, like the equipment tread or the shrine results tread, where people can show off the good drops wouldn't be full of useless posts like copy-paste of battles where you get three crude/fair/average drops or 100 crystals of quintessence from shrining a smart bomb.

Tenboro needs to de-incintivize forum posting even more. But I guess that won't happen until the new forum is made.

But then you wont get people like me, I had to ease into forum posting by spamming first then making constructive posts. I never thought I would post in general. I hated forums

You should never "legislate" social behaviour. People will speak when they care enough about something, not out of obligation.

Say what you want but to me it seems this forum is going on pretty well. There's a few idiots around, but everybody behave theirselves. That's not something you see everywhere. Besides, socialization is a neverending process, which we affect by creating "rules of entendment" ; those allow us to meet strangers everyday and not expect to be smashed in the face, and that helps society I think.
