Because unless it is very good Forged plate, wearing plate you a simply a sitting duck. You also need a forged weapon and to use a voidseeker shard to compensate the loss of accuracy. That and you need to feather some of your gear.

Unless you have that you are going to be raped by all the nice high pl monsters and their specials the magic ones in particular as they will all have plenty of time to fill their bars. Even with power there is always that one dumb giant that will parry my attacks with only a few hp left and fire off all 3 of their specials.....

The only real solution if you cant kill them fast enough is to play on lower difficulties, because you need very good gear to stop the physical specials of the high pl monsters getting to your spirit shield.

So? Equal quality Shielding Plate of Protection still kicks it's ass. What is the point of warding when you lose protection against the majority of attacks? Telling someone to switch from protection to warding is trolling (unless that warding piece is substantially better than the protection they have). You should have no problems surviving the majority of attacks with 4pc protection, or even 3pc if fully forged.

Maybe if you have an endgame estoc with endgame armor fully forged. Anyway, even with a mag ethereal estoc of slaughter and 5 mag and legendary plate pieces (1 shielding) I cannot complete IWBTH legendary item worlds. I don't think switching one out to warding is going to help. Regardless, it is obvious that you quite despise heavy armor for some reason, it is definitely not as easy as you make it sound, lol.
