On the topic of evening out randomness for evades/parries/resists etc, use pseudo-random generators. This does exactly what you want and is used in modern games to day like DotA. Essentially, the overall average remains the same: the starting chance is lower than listed, and each consecutive roll without the event in question has an increased chance. After a successful roll, the counter is reset to a low chance again.

For example, given a 25% chance to evade.
You could have the starting chance 10%, and after each hit increase by 10%. You can see how this evens out similarly by adding up the expected outcomes. For 4 attacks at 25% evade, you expect 1 evade (.25 * 4). With pseudo-random you would also expect 1 evade (.1+.2+.3+.4).

As for void resistance, this is idiotic. Except for legendary/god class monsters, average specific mitigation is 7.7% for slashing, and 3.8% for crushing and piercing over all the classes. If you give monsters void resistance more than that, melee will just use non-void weapons, and thus suffer an evade penalty. This suggestion is ridiculously unfounded.

My Void mitigation suggestion was a joke and intended as such. Not sure about Ichy's.

Tenboro has stated rather emphatically that there will be no Void resist to avoid having to screw with that like he's doing with Soul now. Relax.

On the other hand, I think you'd still use Void over anything but Slashing even at 15-20% resist. Otherwise you'd have to deal with 50% resists, and the mages can tell you how much fun that is.

No idea why this never occured to me.

Spikes, change them to Cloak.

Cloak does damage to all monsters in the round for a small amount of damage per turn, that is useful, but not amazing, as well as giving a chance to proc the debuff. IA able of course.

How about adding passive bonus to player based on their proficiency even when the player is not currently using them.

For example:
One-handed : +1% accuracy/ 100
Two-handed: +1% parry/ 100
Dual wielding: +0.5% critical/ 100
Staff: +1% magic accuracy/ 100
Cloth armor: +1% mag. mit./ 100
Light armor: +1% evade/ 100
Heavy armor: +1% phy. mit./ 100
Elemental: +1% elemental res/ 100
Divine: +1% holy res/ 100
Forbidden: +1% dark res/ 100
Spiritual, Deprecating, Supportive: none

please remember that blood token drop rates were worse than this

then again, most arenas took 1-20 rounds to play through long ago

I get enough to do FSM and IPU with just Arena. Any I only have the first 2 levels of the Perk (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
