QUOTE(4EverLost @ Jan 9 2013, 17:21) x-imperial would be pretty cool for IWBTH schoolgirls or for weak mages in general.
Yeah, assuming that the base cost is reasonable and casting time is quick enough, that would work. It could replace Nerf in the ability tree. Basically anything so that most elemental mages don't have to cast Imperil 1-5 times (excluding resists) every other round on high difficulties. My personal IWBTH Imperil list includes about 15 monsters that show up rather frequently. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) Another possible solution is retooling the elemental resistance abilities or spike shields to confer some degree of consistent anti-resistance to specific elements.

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) YEP (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) it would be faster then casting imperial over and over again but the mana costs would be high too.

QUOTE(HTTP/308 @ Jan 9 2013, 20:15) x-imperil and then one shot IWBTH? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Sure, why not? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) But seriously, not necessarily. I mean, X-Imperil wouldn't necessarily need to be as strong as single target Imperil. It could confer a weaker effect, but the upside is that it would affect all enemies. It would save the hassle of elemental mages having to cast Imperil several times per round (while taking damage) on high difficulties. QUOTE(4EverLost @ Jan 9 2013, 20:29) oh I still like x-nerf for final rounds
I meant single target Nerf. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) X-Nerf can be pretty useful so I wouldn't want to see it replaced.

There's nothing stopping a mage from wearing heavy armors and tank everything. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Speed is the main reason why everyone is using Mage. Once you are level 200 there are so many Arenas to clear and all of them are long. 100 Rounds, 95 Rounds, 90 Rounds... Takes a lot of time if you want to do them all.
Make them shorter and adjust Stamina usage + Credits gain would allow to use slower styles and do them on higher settings.
As it is now I just don't have the time do do them during the week on higher Settings. And magenuking all of them on normal is more profitable then just doing a few on IWBTH.

I'm living in HCM city, using Viettel and i have 350 ping too. But i'm still using 2H melee without any problem. Took me about 7-15 seconds for 1 round BT, 9 mobs, 10-25 turns. I don't know what magic Tenboro is using but i got pageload immediately despite 350 ping. It loads faster when i hold keyboard number buttons to attack than using mouse. I live there too. Meanwhile if I mage it takes at most 2-3 seconds a BT round (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Some people around here was so close to oneshotting BT all the time. Tenb should have waited with the nerf a bit (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif)

Now i wonder how much damage would a dark/holy mage deal when using full plate armor of protection set. It would solve the spark problem for IWBTH run and maybe dealing more damage than melee using the same set. Right now if i use a full plate armor set, i would deal 1.5-2k damage without PA and 4-6k damage with PA. It takes 8-10 hits to kill a monster with 50k HP in BT.

6450 magic score vs. 23700 with full fenrir gear. Taking PA and such into account... forget it.
