OK, I've thought a while on shards, and I think you should be able to "Suspend and Resume" a shard's effect at-will so that people don't have to play for 4 hours straight to get optimum use of their shard. Making it last a certain number of turns or rounds would unbalance the game (playstyles for the former, difficulty for the latter).

1. I'd like the ability to differentiate character rolls with the appropriate EXP stat buffs.

What I mean by this is that I have all of my EXP dumped into Strength and Endurance for my Pally like build but I also want a mage build. This would mean that all my EXP gains would need to go into my wisdom and intelligence but unfortunately I can't do that with ease.

I'm just saying it would be nice to be able to play as multiple things with all stats where they need to be for that respective roll.

2. Player VS. Player

At the very least it would be cool to be able to fight other players with their stats as CPUs. Maybe give out Chaos tokens as rewards or something like that. I don't know, just a thought.

3. Treasure chests

I like opening things so it'd be nice if monsters dropped these from time to time that would grant additional credits, tokens, or large clusters of crystals. Maybe some other stuff, who knows.

So what do ya'll think?

It's a bad idea for as long as there are no instant death attacks / reduced health regain debuffs that the player are vulnerable to.

Else you can just pretty much autoplay the game.

Definitely a good point.
Would it be so broken as to kill the game regardless of price?
Maybe if each new level of IA increases the pool of spells that can be autocast there might be some balance.
For example, allowing Spirit Shield and Spark with IA1, Haste and Protection with IA2, and finishing up IA5 with Regen I/II, would certainly motivate people to complete the perk set.
This may still be too OP though so who knows (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

I know this has been addressed before, but since monsters have their anti-us stats, the concept of ethereal-esque armor may be worth reconsidering. Obviously they should still have B/I when appropriate, but allowing new "ethereal" armor to provide evade/defense that can't be reduced could be a nice balance.
Would that displease the monster heavy crowd though?

Don't melees already pretty much do that? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Just have HVSTAT notify you when regen is about to go out, and you can pretty much go do whatever you want while pianoing the keys already.

Life/Mana/Spirit Leech Weapons are just that bad.

How about the ability to use these Weapons to add the rather useless Leech effect to other weapons of your choice.

I think this is very possible and rather easy to make.
Step 1: make system save player states each day or every couple of days.
Step 2: new mode called class world (you know where IW is from? Well it also does have Class World.)
Step 3: difficulty is based on players you can encounter. Normal +/- 10 levels of your level while IWBTH no upper cap. Inbetween you have for example nightmare with a range of +15 to +30 of your level.
Step 4: rewards

Requesting anti-evade/parry/resist abilities for players. Preferably something tied into weapon proficiency or skills.

Example:

Two-handed grants some anti-parry

Dual Wielding grants some anti-evade

One handed grants some anti-evade (plus maybe an anti parry buff to overwhelming strikes)

Staff grants some anti-resist

Niten grants anti-parry and anti-evade, though to a lesser degree than either of its parent styles.


Or perhaps weapon skill buffs that grant temporary effects to reduce or neutralize enemy parry/evade/resist.

Return credits from equipment sales to previous level.

Personally, I am constantly broke in this game, and credits build up abysmally slow. Ever since the halving of equipment sales I am hovering near zero credits just about every day.

relatively speaking, compared to credit gain, these things are CRAZY expensive

Bad enough I never see any good loot drops, very rarely see an artifact, and my only hath perks are innate arcana 1 and 2 (trying to save up for anything else is a total pipedream)

Rather demotivating to play for several hours and have nothing to show for it besides 1/50th of the crystals necessary for your next monster upgrade.

Maybe it is deliberately set up so that one has to drop real money on the game to be able to play it with nominal return, but looking at the $$$ needed to get a decent flow of hath/credits going, well.... lol

Youve plunked down over 1000 dollars on a text-based browser game, giving you 10,000 credits every day and 10 hath every day. That's a HUGE amount of automatic income.

The hath bonus alone puts you automatically closer to activating the perks which increase your earning potential, or an alternate source of income by simply selling them.

So yea, unless you want to donate something substantial my way you have no business talking about what's ok and not ok regarding earning credits. kthnxbai
