idk if this has been suggested already but i would like to cannibalize my junk drops at the forge for a chance to get the related suffix binding and/or raw materials. crude,fair=low grade, average,fine=mid grade and anything else beyond that would yield high grade. that would give those useless equips much more value than the few credits they get from the bazaar. maybe a smithing or armsmaster henjutsu could be added to balance it out, requiring at least one level (crude/fair) to even start reverse engineering equips.

Can we have a rare mid-suffix for armor (like ethereal for weapons) which would add an additional random bonus to something regardless of the armor type (cloth/light/heavy)? Even if the possibility will be twice more rare and the bonus will be twice less than usual ones - it still be worth just for fun and variety. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Show items you have in an equipment set while in the shop so you can price them & compare with other stock. Have a button to explicitly change to an equipment set so you don't lose magic and HP just by browsing them.
Show the number of battles a monster's been in as well as wins and kills. Display the date it was created so you don't have to record it separately. Show a little graph of its level and battles/wins/kills vs time. Show battles/wins/kills on the Monster Lab overview page. Implement a regex search for monster names so you can see what's taken without trying to create it. Make the descriptions of the base types readable even if you aren't in the process of creating a monster.
Let the player set bravado, fear and death lines for each monster that have a chance to be printed when it is, respectively, in a belligerent mood (default), low on hits, or when it's just been defeated. Since this makes combat noisier, have an option to not display the messages. (Idea borrowed from Zangband.)
Add monster equipment and item slots for humanoids so you can give your wife your spare gear the best gear you have.
Add horse bardings so ponywives aren't left out.
Penalize the player some number of XP for getting killed so fleeing has a use and suicide runs vs monsters are costlier.
Add a little dating sim so you can date your monsters.

And if you have the credits to get 1750 haths to break even, I believe it's much more efficient to just buy them directly. With the amount of credits needed to buy 1750 haths, you can buy almost 450k crystals at 55c per.

Buying crystals will cost more in the long run. As long as you're playing a good amount of rounds daily, crystal perk is the only type of perk that can redeem its value. That's why it's useful.

I'm all for having regular artifacts stop giving crystals and new artifacts drop in CrysFest that take up the 100x rewards.
