• Mary Poppins (1964):

Good music, fun story with great colors, and one terrible accent by Dick Van Dyke.

• 101 Dalmatians (1961):

By far the most stylistically different early Disney film (due to cost-cutting and the introduction of xerox machines to allow original sketches to be transposed to the screen), but also one of the best for how different it is. Almost no songs in the film at all, but had good humor. Also, Cruella in the car chase at the end of the film used to terrify me. apparently, Walt Disney hated it, but I think it remains my favorite Disney animated feature apart from maybe The Black Cauldron, but I didn't watch that one until relatively recently. Atlantis is another runner-up.

• Escape to Witch Mountain (1975):

I'm not 100% sure why I loved this one, but I can remember the harmonica theme as I write this despite not having seen the film in well over a decade. I do remember it having a strange/mysterious vibe to it, which was great for young me, but I can't say I remember a ton about the plot other than the vaguest possible synopsis.

• Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971):

Yeah, yet another Disney film. I'm sorry; I really am. I really don't know why their films from this particular time period resonated so strongly with me, even when I was young. It's not as good as Mary Poppins, though.

• The Lord of the Rings (Ralph Bakshi film, 1978):

Just struck me as really cool for whatever reason. Years later, I saw "Wizards" and appreciated it immensely as well.

But it's a good movie, though… I was born in the 90's and my family had that on VHS. I enjoyed it, too.

Mine was "Willow". I don't know how many times I watched that damn movie, but I enjoyed the hell out it.

I have an NES game based on that movie that's apparently pretty fun, but I never played it.
The movie was neat; adult me likes Time Bandits more, though.
