I thought 'wow, that sounds... really stupid' the first time I heard it, but i got accustomed to it.
I don't think I'll ever use it out of the context of discussing the word itself, but there you have it.
What really gave me an aneurysm though was hearing someone use it in the past tense ("yote" - not even "yeeted"). And then the other zoomers nearby understanding exactly what he had just said.
