Second that, would be great.

This Update is awesome. There isn't a catch to this one, is there, Tenboro?? You aren't going to ask us to sell our souls or give our firstborns or anything like that to keep it?? Or is this just your version of a great Christmas Gift, e-Hentai style?? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

The souls aren't being deducted quite yet, but that's coming too.

No, we need regen to be added to the list (only if it takes you to a certain HP %, my choice being 90%, then turns off). Edit: Shouldn't this be impossible? 9 5 Regeneration restores you with 65 points of health. 9 4 Mutant Peacock hits you for 36 piercing damage. 9 3 Amphibious Sperm Whale hits you for 42 crushing damage. 9 2 You gain the effect Regeneration. 9 1 You use Health Gem. I'm sure it'll be added eventually, but I think the toggle is more important as far as general usage is concerned. After that, everything else (like a different cutoff instead of MP percentage) will just be tweaks to make a sweet deal even sweeter.

QUOTE(OmegaSin @ Dec 11 2009, 13:02) I still can't access HV. Same problem: login screen.
Are you using firefox with a cookie blocker? HV uses a different cookie now. I had this problem and had to turn off my cookie blocker to log in the first time.

Regen > Toggle on and off. Even if you ignore the advantage of having it cost less mp because of the upkeep reduction which is of course no small thing, having Regen turn on and off automatically when you hit certain HP levels would be a major boost to my MP efficiency. That would mean no more having Regen active while you have full health, and no more casting cure because your HP bar got too low because you were trying to avoid the previous. Adding Absorb would be cool as well though that might require your on/off toggle to be useful.

QUOTE(Boggyb @ Dec 11 2009, 16:15) Another vote for a different color for the power-up gems.
Obviously they need to be all the colours of the rainbow. And flashing. With sparkles. Well, at least it's in bold, but some extra highlighting would be nice. But what I'd really like is to be able to put my buckler in more than one equipment set, please.

For the time being, I can highlight powerups with EVO, so go suggest colors in its thread.
Speaking of the powerups, an icon letting us know we've got one in inventory would be nice. It doesn't have to be fancy and detail what kind it is, it'd just be nice to know we've got one without having to go into our inventory.

I'd settle for a more mundane color. Or being able to select your own color. Actually, allow us to select our own colors for all the text so we can have everything be as colorful and helpful as what Battle Buddy allows us to do except without the delayed load-up. Boggyb disagrees. He wants to be able to set them up in his 9th quickbar slot. For the icons, just use the effect of it and do the same thing you do with the icon of spells cast by scrolls. This post has been edited by Boggyb: Dec 11 2009, 22:48

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Dec 11 2009, 06:04) - You can now gain proficiency for autocast spells. It will be calculated randomly every turn, with the actual chance depending on the upkeep cost.
Could you explain this in a little more detail? And do the autocast rolls for proficiency affect the proficiency rolls for manually cast spells or vice-versa in any way? This post has been edited by cmal: Dec 11 2009, 23:13

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Dec 11 2009, 06:04) Battle Powerups
Monsters will now randomly drop Powerup Gems when they are defeated. When they drop, these powerups are automatically slotted in the special "P" item slot (overwriting any powerups already there, if any).
Powerups have a usage time of 0, meaning that they can be used instantly. They persist between rounds, but shatter at the end of the grindfest/item world/arena challenge.
Heh, you finally took my suggestion. Sweet! Overall looks like an interesting update.

Hooray for equipment sets! Quick montage shortcut. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Looking forward to trying out the powerups. (+1 to highlight or quick-cast request) Still hoping for this: QUOTE Can you send out mail whenever there is a new version of HV? Preferably with the changes listed in the mail, but if not that, a link to the forum thread for it? If not that even, how about just a version number somewhere on the HV window?

I was waiting for you to say that (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) I remember when we talked about this (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) @Tenb: You know what would be awesome? A training/perk to increase your number of gem slots (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Or at least a backup slot. Maybe you can only access the first slot, and when you use the gem in that slot any gem in your backup slot moves to the first, and any new gem you find at that point goes into the backup slot, instead of destroying the one in the first slot.

Ideas for gems: -XP gain boost gem. -Prof gain boost gem. -Change the shock/fire/etc gems to mini-infusions. These defense things are worthless.

Nay. That would also change attack type. The shields give an elemental defense, which is much more important than the damage they deal when you get hit. Also, %&*)&@*$&@!$_! I always find a mystic gem right after using heartseaker T_T @Tenb: A few things: 1. I think the health gem should be removed entirely, and the chance for it dropping redistributed to the chance for mana, soul, and mystic gems. It's worthless. It restores little more than half of what second wind does for health. 2. It would be nice if the spike gems' tooltips told use how much elemental mitigation they gave. Ah, with the powerup gems, I've finally used Channeling for the first time (power up next spell 50%, no cost). It powered up my shield from 20 turns to 31 turns (awesome!), and the damage offset from 15.1 points to a whopping... 15.1 points. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) I understand why it may work this way, but it just strikes me as odd. Edit: Oh, and using a gem still decremented my Overwhelming Strikes proc by 1. My misinterpretation of "Powerups have a usage time of 0" I suppose. VV Sounds reasonable, and I hope Tenboro takes that into consideration. This post has been edited by xWKx: Dec 12 2009, 01:35

How much is blocked is only dictated by the supportive proficiency; I always found that a little strange giving if you have a powerful magic rating, you would think you could cast a more powerful shield. My simple suggestion on that is to have magic rating itself (the power of your magic power) provide a mitigation percent to the shield. It can't be a huge increase naturally and most likely will have to be capped to keep it from being overpowered by the very high levels, but I wouldn't mind seeing shield come out to be "5% mitigation and 30 points absorbed from physical attacks" or something like that.
