QUOTE(Skotavus @ Dec 30 2009, 21:57) Can there be a little rebalancing of the Poison spell, please, since I have three points going completely to waste on a spell that only does 14 damage per turn.
The Bleeding Wound procs I inflict with my current weapons can do over 500% of that damage .
Poison is a spell, not a proc, so just because the way it does damage is similar to Bleeding Wound, I wouldn't really compare them that way. From the sounds of it, you have weapons with really high bleed, so it's only natural you'd currently do more damage that way. With any spell that you can put multiple AP into, it's almost always best to put the full amount: it increases damage/duration/effectiveness. As Sonic pointed out, combining Poison with Penetrated Armor gives it a boost, which can be really helpful on a boss, especially if you DON'T have Bleeding Wound on a weapon at the time.

QUOTE(Forth_Lancer @ Dec 31 2009, 00:39) Ohh... I wonder if it's applied to legendary too. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Is it possible to defeat legendary from Konata above without silence? I can defeat all 4 legendaries easily without Silence, Spark of Life, or Absorb. I'm probably about the only one though, due to the equipment I have. Looks like I made a mistake at my question sentence. Fix'd: Except hitokiri, Is it possible to defeat legendary from Konata above without silence? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I did not use Silence on real life when I defeated it. I used Bewilder/Weaken/Slow/Poison/Nerf.

Well if your not using silence then your using weaken/bewilder, and probably spark of life in case a spirit attack. But ya you can beat a legendary without silence it just costs 5x the mana..... Which is why I still prefer using silence on them. Although on Real Life I still prefer weaken/bewilder since he doesn't use his abilities more then 4-5 times before he is dead and seems to have a 50%+ crit rate. I suppose the question for Hito would be can you beat the legendaries without any depreciating spells.

QUOTE(Sonic @ Dec 31 2009, 03:45) (Action Speed * Action Modifier) + burden = TU
You're forgetting the part where your action speed gets subtracted from 300. Not that it makes any difference after being multiplied by zero, of course. QUOTE(Forth_Lancer @ Dec 31 2009, 09:17) Except hitokiri, Is it possible to defeat legendary from Konata above without silence? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Yes. You should be able to do it easily enough at your level. Read the How do I beat a Legendary? thread for pointers. QUOTE(uth @ Dec 31 2009, 12:30) But ya you can beat a legendary without silence it just costs 5x the mana....
Which ones are you talking about? That seems a little high for the 2 token legendaries.

5x may be an exaggeration, but weaken+ bewilder(26 turns) cost more then silence(36 turns) does and last a shorter amount of time. Ontop of that you need to keep spark of life up for that just in case spirit attack. So for me its 34 mana (x3 lets say it takes 100 turns to kill) vs....(19+19)x4+98(x2 assumes you got hit with the spirit attack once then had to recast spark) so 102 mana vs 348 mana so more like 3.5 times more mana.

Well if you allow Supportive, then yes, easily. If you mean using nothing but Curative then Konata yes, Ryouko yes if I don't get crit by spirit, and Mikuru and Yuki no unless all spirit attacks miss. Cost is completely relevant to your situation. My Weaken and Bewilder last 31 turns in full plate and I do not require Spark or Absorb, so that is far cheaper for me than using Silence and Cure to heal 1000-2000 damage per hit. This post has been edited by hitokiri84: Dec 31 2009, 21:19

Well I'm assuming the supportive spell you'd need is spark of life, so I'd probably say no since going out of your way to not cast a depreciating spell to instead cast spark would be kind of retarded. But even still its kinda nuts that you can beat Konata without anything but cure. Do you even bother using depreciating spells on bosses anymore?

I just throw out a Silence and then hold down the corresponding attack key while I watch TV. For the single boss arenas, I just kill them first before they even charge their Spirit attacks. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Well, that's for normal at least. I don't see much reason in doing the arenas on higher difficulties unless you want to show off. And I can beat Konata without anything but Curative, but that's not to say it's not dangerous. Her spirit crit generally does something in the 6000-8000 range to me IIRC, and I can have around 7750 HP depending on my equipment. This post has been edited by hitokiri84: Dec 31 2009, 21:31

I pretty handily defeated every legendary (Konata, Mikuru, Ryouko, and Yuki)) while I was below level 80, so I had no access to Spark, Absorb, or Silence.
I've written up my strategies for each one on the thread Sayo linked, but it's basically "keep Weaken, Bewilder, and PA+Poison up while beating on them with whatever attack is most effective, and healing yourself." Konata and Mikuru can be taken down with just a good Rapier (gotta have PA to deal more than ~20 per hit), but Ryouko and Yuki take 1 damage from all physical attacks. To deal any significant damage to those two you need either an ethereal weapon, a high bleed axe, or a good Rapier so you can use the "PA+Holy AOE" method (which is what I used).

Oh right, so its actually CODE ((300 - Action Speed) * Action Modifier) + Burden = TU As for spirit attacks, I successfully blocked Real Life's "Internet Shutdown" Spirit attack with my buckler several times. So luck is definitely part of the game when it comes to those creatures.

The HentaiVerse link is on the left side of the main page, just below "E-Hentai Galleries" and "E-Hentai Forums." For tips on how to get started, check out the wiki, here, especially the Advice article. Also be sure to read the Tips and Information and HV Questions threads, though be aware that some of the information posted in those threads before November is out of date. The wiki is very nearly 100% up to date, though. If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me. Though be aware that I'll be offline all this weekend.

If you hover over an ability that has a cut off box, the page size increases, and you can scroll down. Then move the mouse back over the ability, and you can read the popup at the bottom of the page. It takes a bit of finesse, though. Or, you can read the new stuff I posted on the wiki, and match up the icons to find out what it is. I'm sure Tenb will fix that bug soon. One of the easiest ways to speed up leveling your character is posting on the forum. Check out the spamhaus for a place dedicated to simply raising your post count. If you post in every one of those threads, once a day, you'll get about 70% more EXP.
