I'm using Firefox on my Android phone at least because it supports add-ons, so I can install uBlock Origin and get rid of advertisement.

Personally, I use Vivaldi which is based off Chrome, but there's also a nice offshoot of Firefox called Waterfox that's all about privacy. Vivaldi looks really nice and has a very useful start page, so I chose it over Waterfox.

I remember when waterfox was just an unofficial 64-bit Windows build of Firefox before Mozilla released 64 bit FF builds.

Neither.I use re-skinned chrome since it's got a hotkey feature,which can come in handy

As I've said I use [www.seamonkey-project.org] re-skinned old firefox, so I can set up keybindings as necessary.

I like Firefox for personal business.

Chrome for general use, when I don't care what anyone sees.

Brave is for porn.

DuckDuckGo, Stands Fair and HTTPS Everywhere are okay for adds.

This with the exception of me using Firefox for personal uses (porn included) with some plugins that block ads and javascript and for HTTPS etc.

I can put up with chrome shittyness but the amount of RAM it uses is just fucking ridiculous.

I just use my "legacy addon" browser, though; I don't alternate unless absolutely necessary. New FF just trashes my way of browsing.

New FF is exceptionally greedy at using resources. But to cover up its slowness, I noticed it makes multiple separate processes. The more tabs I have, the more processes. So I am assuming that for each XX quantity of tabs, it creates another process so that whatever javascript is running in those invasive tags gets to chew up a separate core if you have many of them. Thus, FF would always look fast no matter how many tabs I have out. My logic is probably wrong, but I wonder why it would make more processes when I have more tabs.

In the ancient days of programming of the 1980's and 1990's, the method of spawning more programs to deal with each quantity of tabs would be called "hack programming". This is not hacking which is breaking into something. This is hack as in programming something just good enough to work without regard to resource waste or its effect on the resource ecosystem.

Yes, I know what the proper definition of a "hack" is.

And I've never felt that old FF or seamonkey was unresponsive. Just seen people claim it was. Maybe I am more forgiving than others with respect to that.
