Brave, it's made by Brendan Eich (creator of JavaScript and former CEO of Mozilla) who worked on firefox before getting fired over politics, and since then Firefox has gone down hill. Brave has a number of nice features, such as it's built in torrent downloader, a few optimizations, and the most well known feature of having BAT, a crypto-token that your paid in for using it.

mozilla started going downhill before Eich left, although I agree it has accelerated since then. Also, *you're This post has been edited by dragontamer8740: Oct 31 2020, 23:42

All those people using Chrome while browsing any kind of hentai site is just letting google build up a user profile on the types of hentai and for how long you look at each of those types.
The other problem is if those people use chrome to visit PRIVATE sites. That basically breaks the protection since that user is the trojan horse that let the spyware enter the protected garden.

I'm actively avoiding Chrome except on the effing dumbphone - Chrome seems to work best on Android, on Windows it's Brave then Firefox then Edge; on Linux Brave and Firefox

no, chromium-based browsers are better than firefox in most cases. you can stop google from tracking you by using ungoogled-chromium. however, if you want to support an open internet, any browser exclude chromium-based ones would be your choice.

Some firefox addons are themselves spyware because the companies that make them say one thing but do another. If you remember, back in 2018, Firefox removed a bunch of addons that spied on users: [ www.bleepingcomputer.com] https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/secur...ooped-on-users/Will Firefox be able to continue doing security inspections and banning of bad addons? Does it have the staff to do that now? Firefox doesn't make money with its privacy approach. Google, famous for selling user data to companies, makes a ton of money, so its only a matter of time before Chrome's continued financial success and ability to bankroll features and new business partners will force Firefox to get smaller and smaller.

Chrome/Chromium addons do the same things. I don't mean that in a "whataboutism" way, just making sure everyone realizes. Even with inspections Mozilla has let things under the radar before. For instance, the Stylish addon had spyware in it for quite a while. This post has been edited by dragontamer8740: Nov 30 2020, 02:56

It's why I have never gone onto private sites with a Chrome browser. It doesn't matter "turning off" monitoring because use of the software itself means both Permission and Consent have been given as long as the software is in use. Any pseudo denial of monitoring ends up being ignored in the end because even if the top level applications don't monitor, the low-level ones continue to monitor. Membership in a private site includes the duty of each user to protect the other users from privacy violations. I wish more private sites stated that boldly in the rules.

Firefox for daily use - better for privacy and customisation.
ungoogled-chromium - as a backup for when I need to use the occasional site made by an asshole developer who makes sites that only work in chrome.
