For those of you who use Opera for everyday browsing, have you considered simply installing Chrome for the express purpose of playing HV? That's what I did (I'm a Firefox man, myself), and since Chrome is totally clean of everything that I've added to my main browser for convenience, HV runs really fast, too.
Though, I gotta admit Tenb, whatever you did to the battle interface page sped it up a lot in Firefox. Even with my addon suite and BBE installed, Firefox is now the same speed as a clean Chrome. Firefox used to be at least 50% slower than Chrome, even with every Firefox addon disabled.

HV is really fast in FF now and so much better so I don't think I'll be using Opera anymore for my arena battles and Grindfests. Thanks for that.
I've noticed that the EXP in my random battles has been on the low side all day today, which is strange. Does this have anything to do with the update?

When I started playing today, I noticed HV was responding faster than usual. After visiting the equipment shop, I was met with red numbers, extra digits, and % signs everywhere. Pretty cool stuff. I absolutely love how much faster HV is now. You can get a lot more actions per second now than compared to say, before the downloadable fonts feature was added. It's pretty crazy. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Instantaneous response when using a custom local font. Makes it easier to die if you hold down an attack button without watching your health. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Still hoping for this: QUOTE Can you send out mail whenever there is a new version of HV? Preferably with the changes listed in the mail, but if not that, a link to the forum thread for it? If not that even, how about just a version number somewhere on the HV window?

QUOTE(smaterglocker @ Dec 5 2009, 23:49) I don't know what it does different, but Opera tends to be very compliant, so I'd say there is a 95% chance there is something wrong with your html and that Opera simply isn't as forgiving as some other browsers are.
In any event, it is a 9MB download and a 2 minute install. Give it a try. You might find that you like it more than Firefox. I personally am a die hard fan of 8+ years
Uh-huh. I've had Opera installed on a number of occasions over the years, even before they dropped the dumb banners that might have lost them the race in the first place. But when you say that Opera is "compliant", that's on a technical level only. See, there's a large number of places in the HTML specs that are fairly open-ended or vaguely/ill-defined. What Firefox (or rather, Mozilla classic/Phoenix/Firebird) did in these cases was to render it like the current dominating browser, that is, IE. Seeing as Chrome/Webkit is usually pixel-identical to Firefox/Gecko, I can only assume those are the same. Include one other fact: both of those engines are open-source, so they've likely influenced each other. Opera on the other hand decided to not look at what other browsers were doing, but just went their own way on everything that wasn't well-defined - in some cases they do stuff *differently* seemingly just to spite people. Which is why, while Opera may be technically highly compliant (and Opera fanboys love to quote the almost entirely useless ACID tests), it's NOT de-facto compliant with what other browsers do. Finally, Opera (at least the last time I looked at it, which isn't that long ago) is by far the shittiest browser when it comes to developer support. Firefox has the Web Developer Toolbar. Chrome has built-in a bunch of tools like the Inspector/Profiler/Resource tracker. Even IE kicks Opera's ass starting with IE8's built-in developer tools. This makes debugging code in Opera a real pain in the ass. Those are the main reasons why Opera is not actually a supported browser, even though people seem to be acting like it is. But if you feel like debugging the battle view in Opera and telling me exactly what has to be changed, I'm taking volunteers. Edit: So I did install Opera, and I did look at it. Here's what I found. Opera is inexplicably leaving a 12-pixel space between the top of the outer div container and where it starts stacking the floating divs consisting of the left info pane, the navbar, and the main screen. There is absolutely no reason for it to do this, and even using the admittedly improved developer tools didn't leave a clue as to why the hell it would add that space. I'm just going to file that under my "Opera does weird stuff for no reason" folder, which is getting pretty damn thick.

You need to move the scrollbar from the right side back into the battle log, that is if you know how it got misplaced in the first place. The second option might be to widen the whole window or shorten the monster displayed field by about 1 cm so it can fit next to the battle log. https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?act=A...ost&id=4210Thanks for working on this.

"Move" the scrollbar? The scrollbar is there because Opera has pushed everything down 12 pixels, making the container scrollable. That's where you have to look.

Ok, i tried Chrome and thought there are some little display bugs, the speed is amazing. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Well, I'm an Opera or nothing kind of user and it sounds like you aren't going to fix it, so I'm calling this a "game over." I have more than enough windows running in the task bar and I don't need another one. See ya later, gentlemen.

Oh dear, I better spend several hours trying to track down an obscure rendering bug in a closed-source rendering engine used by a handful of people who just want to be different and use something that's inferior to at least two other browsers out there, or they might stop playing my game.
Not.
If you'll excuse me, I need to go kill some russians on an oil rig.

Wouldn't it of been easier to have just said "go fuck yourself"? I'm just saying.

I just switched to Chrome from Opera (because Firefox hates me on this computer) and fuck is it fast in the HVerse. Question: Are people able to use alt+# to cast spells in chrome? I wasn't able to use them in Opera either, so it might just be my computer rather than the browser...

Yes, but that's less fun. Seeing as I've repeatedly stated that the only officially supported browser is Firefox (although Chrome/Webkit is unofficially supported since it's getting pretty good), whenever someone uses something else and *demands* that something that's borked in it should get fixed *NOW*, I really am reaching for words. Well, if you didn't play MW2 yet, you would. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) PS: It's frigging gorgeous with a HD5970.

I can't get this game to work in Lynx. I'm a Lynx or nothing user, so fix it now. That's it I'M OUT OF HERE! SEE YOU LATER LOSERS!

Yes, but if they're too lazy to open another window to play a game (to which is optional as to whether or not you want to play), chances are they're too lazy to read that whole paragraph of belittlement to which you so thoughtfully typed out for them, right?

From what i can see it's definately not just a handful of people. QUOTE QUOTE(Tenboro @ Dec 6 2009, 21:25) If you'll excuse me, I need to go kill some russians on an oil rig.

ROFL (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) QUOTE the only officially supported browser is Firefox I did not know that. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) If this was once ever said somewhere in the huge maze called E-Hentai Forums, it did not reach me (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Good night people, and try [ www.google.com] Chrome, it takes about 60 secons to plug and play and the data travels 16 times the speed of light.
