the one really bad thing about DDG is the image search. It seems like the first thing it does with a query is do a heuristic to guess if the words mean the user wants porn or not. And if it decides the user wants porn, the innocuous search they're actually TRYING to do becomes 100% porn images unless the "safe" filter is on.

Searching for nixie tube gives porn results.

Google. It has reverse image search, image search, video search and advanced search.

DuckDuckGo usually, but Google is also nice for reverse image search. Sometimes Google can be more accurate with search results too.

Google, it's just easier than the others.

Brave is one of the best browser's you can have. You can link your google to it.
So it's like Google, but, you can choose your search engine, it's own adblocker and you can also add google extensions to it.
I love it.
The other one would be Tor, great privacy when you need it. Also many website that are not availble in other searches beacuse of copyright for example you can find it there

Anyway, to answer OP: searx.

currently i use DDG for most things and bing as backup, i used to selfhost searx but it's just too slow and most decent results came from the big search engines anyways, yandex has probably the best reverse image search but the captchas kills it for me

when comparing results between engines i found that google seems to be the most helpful but it tends to obscure relevant results more often than the others so i don't really trust it anymore, great for finding random bits of trivia without leaving the search page though

DDG nearly all the time except when I have to look for some loctions nearby or so
