That said, I think all search engines are shit, I just use them all until one finds what I'm after. It's funny when it doesn't matter what you are trying to find, it still somehow finds a way of pushing some political nonsense as the first results. It used to be that everything after the first page results were shit, but sometimes depending on what you are searching, the good results start at the second page or even later now.

I don't particularly care that google or whoever knows what I'm searching for, my condolences to them if they take a nosy, just the biased results doesn't sit well with me.

I have been using DuckDuckGo for a few years as my main search engine, although sometimes Google gives better results. I also use Google if I need to reverse image search an image.

In my experience, Google almost always gives better results, especially when searching for multiple words and/or phrases. That said, DDG is often "good enough", but for anything complicated I need to use "!g" with it.

Google and Bing both filter AND censor results politically. This also affects Duckduckgo because it gets many results by crossreferencing other search engines. If those engines (google, bing, others) politically censor their data, then the Duck also ends up the same way. Duck also admitted to censorship for the good of the users. Yandex seems to be the last of the major free public (baidu is not public) search engines not using USA liberal politics as a criteria for politically censoring search results.
