Says the guy who once wrote that if you don't have a piece of paper indicating you graduated from some random stupid place that you're not as smart as the person who has that piece of paper :3

Oh yeah. That was drunken rambling. My defense was purely out of principle of you calling me stupid. And I will do it again if necessary!

No, the stupid thing was drunken rambling, before you called me stupid. My defense the morning after was because you called me stupid.

Actually, grades say NOTHING about intellect, you'd have to look at the pupils demeanour..... I guess though, that unfortunately, when you're drunk, you forget that kind of stuff.....

Quality of education, not quantity. And by quality, I mean things that are useful and enrich a person's ability to be not a piece of human trash.

That's the only thing that scares the shit out of me. Losing control of my mental faculties. That's why I'll never drink alcohol or do drugs either prescribed or illicit. Fuck that shit.

Is education actually intelligent? Tehcnically, it's just as well just a bunch of learned facts. Thing's just that the bunch is very big and the web of facts spans widely when the education has a high quality.
In the end it always comes down to "Lead subject A through process B, add ability C, gain a functioning subject and NEXT!" Eddy: that last part feels like a dumb-as-fuck non-sequitur, now that I read it, but I still want to leave it, for the lulz, so to speak.... Eddy: Hey! It's page number 500! It means nothing, but I like round numbers.....

If/when I start becoming senile, I'm just going to lay down and die. That's my plan and you can't stop me.

It's not like you lose them permanently (unless you happen to hit your head incredibly hard somehow or drink to the point of severe alcohol poisoning). Besides, that doesn't happen often. You only get stupid once in a while. Most of the times all it really does is lower your social inhibitions, which allows you to explore certain things. So, don't be a pussy, try it from time to time. Next time you meet up with Ian have some drinks with him. QUOTE(Benjiro @ Jan 4 2012, 18:25) Is education actually intelligent? Tehcnically, it's just as well just a bunch of learned facts. It all depends on how you apply the facts you learn. Like- oh wait, this is deja vu ... Like Immortal Technique says... Bah, you know what I'm about to say.

Heh, that reminds that out of the five times I was drunk, I belonged to the most annyoing people arounf dive times. Not because I was exactly antisocial, but because I kept worrying that some shit might happen and that reckless me, in the state in which I am, will not be able to be useful in any way. I kept talking about how horrible it is for me to not be in control, which was kind of ironic. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) Anyways, that new year's eve, entertaining as it was, finally had me at a point where I don't ever want to get drunk anymore. Last year I said I won't drink till new year, this year I can say: " Fuck that shit!" (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

My uncles are a bunch of drunks. Some of my cousins are, too. That's all I needed to decide not to drink.

I should know better because of the nice things I wnt through with my stepfather.... Well at least it had me drink much, much MUCH less than everypony around me... that's a start, and as an explorer at heart, it would have been hard, even if I was super-smart and able to resist....

I kind of used to think the same, but there's a good chance I'll be funny to watch. QUOTE(Pseudoshy @ Jan 4 2012, 21:29) It's not like you lose them permanently
Depends what substance we're talking about. Some can cause long-term damage if you take them often enough.

Fuck that shit.
QUOTE(BlorgAlmighty @ May 11 2011, 05:08) I often read / watch all these books and shows and movies about how people need to loosen up and have some fun but I've always had a problem with that. I'm single, will probably be for life, get in touch with my friends like once a month, don't drink or do drugs or smoke, have a hard time making friends and all that jazz and yet I'm moderately happy with my life. Sure, there are parts that I'm not happy about, but those are generally more connected with inability to motivate myself and making something of myself, not with human relations.
How is drinking supposed to solve my problems?
I once asked a guy who I was in military training why people drink. He said it was to "lose themselves". I suppose that makes sense. I'm also aware that people may drink for different reasons, like actually liking the taste of alcohol or enjoying the buzz, but I'm not sure how that helps.
I hate losing control of myself. I like keeping my emotions pent up most of the time. I would hate to go wild. I am fucking afraid of not being able to control my own actions. I'm susceptible to basic human needs already and instances of wetting the bed as a kid has taught me that I should at the very least control what I can about myself.
I seriously hate stories with the moral that everything can be solved by letting your hair down and getting drunk especially since my hair isn't really long enough to tie up, let alone let down. I mean, seriously, long hair gets greasy hella easily. Short hair is at least resistant to the greasiness.
What I'm saying is, maybe drunks would be less of a douchebag if they used alcohol to gel their hair.
HAH! I managed to find an excuse to quote myself.
