QUOTE(Benjiro @ Dec 27 2011, 17:40) Is'nt that what he implied to say?
OI for my part think nihilism is in most cases a lie anyay. Especilaly regarding the people who hang it on their vests.
Win and win. Or at least, yes to the first part (that IS what I meant) and I agree with you regarding nihilism in quite a few cases.

QUOTE(Pseudoshy @ Dec 27 2011, 06:06) Hmm... That's an interesting proposition. I can see some terrorists being nihilists, after all even I start thinking from time to time that I would love to cause massive damage at a national level without having a real political, ideological, or religious reason. That's just me being an asshole though, and wanting to see people suffer to get some sort of sick satisfaction.
I would imagine most are spurred by religion or some personal ideology though.
"I'll burn an orphanage just to bring heat to you bastards"
LATE EDIT: I just thought about it some more, and by definition nihilists couldn't really be terrorists. Terrorism is an act of violence and/or intimidation in order to gain political, religious, or ideological gains. If you broaden the term to just general acts of violence and intimidation, including for NO purpose, then yes you could group them together.
My thinking has usually been that, on some level, the ideology is just an excuse. The people in question make logical leaps with dogma to justify the atrocities they commit. I sadly don't have a direct passage to prove this, but I'm pretty sure that the doctrines of Islam state that it's a sin to kill a man. Given it's an Abrahamic religion, I don't think this is an unreasonable assumption, but if somebody more familiar with the Quran/Koran can clear this up, I'd appreciate it. For this point, I'd draw a parallel to the Crusades. I'm pretty damn sure Thou Shalt Not Kill is a big part of Catholicism, so it seems to me that Crusaders weren't following the ideology so much as just using it to feed their sick delusions and justify their xenophobia. Now that I think about it more, though, xenophobia seems like a more reasonable theory for most terrorism than flat-out nihilism.* I still think there are terrorists who are in it just because they've adopted a "fuck it all" mentality, but hatred has historically been a powerful driving force for violence. ...Oh, look, there's that clock in the corner of the screen, reminding me that it's after 4am and I'm too tired to have any idea what the fuck I'm talking about. Okay, I'm done. *: Never thought I'd use xenophobia and reasonable in the same sentence

In my country Terrorism is used for politics and criminal extorsion,
an example of the first: Home made bombs were being thrown inside crowded buses, alledgedly for extortion to the bus owners, a politic claimed that if he was elected president, his top priority would be to arrest such criminals, later it was found out that the bombers werent part of any criminal organization, and where in fact affiliated to the politician party. Of course nothing was proved and the criminals didnt testify.
an example of the second, gang leaders convicted and incarcerated have access to cellular phones which they use to coordinate the collection of a weekly fee from merchants, bus owners and even house owners, which if not paid would result on the death of family members beggining from children or elders.
Fucked up place, alas, there are far worse in this planet, and we humans have the cheek to call ourselves civilized. Meh.
Rant over.

Sounds like you're implying that it limits itsel to ebonics, if that's what you meant (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) QUOTE i DON#T KNOW MAN! I'M just drukn nd don't get what's going oon so i spill my athetic personality all over thhis place FZCJQ
Heh, at least I recognized my own pathos..... After-show-Eddy: *ROFLTONEARDEATH* This was the most hilariously pathetically antisocial thing that I ever pulled off..... I'm proud of myself keeping my promise and ashamed of agreeing to it ITFP..... Everything (Well ALMOST everything, considering the beautiful black eye that I sport now...) went according to plan.... I even made my own "Twilight-handy-list" and were able to check every point on it! Oh election season, I love you so much. I am now entering my 6th straight hour of watching the news and following the Iowa caucus. Oh 2012, you make my dick hard.

If it weren't just the RNC, it would be 100% more entertaining.

True. Funny side effect of this happened today. A friend of mine decided he wanted to debate about the 2012 election. He swears up and down that Ron Paul will win the presidency. I told him that he stood absolutely no chance. His argument is that the people really want Ron Paul but the media elites won't let him win. That conspiracy shit isn't the funniest part. I told him if people really wanted Ron Paul to win, they'd, you know, vote for him. He can't even win Iowa in his own party so it's clear he's not going to win a general election. His reply? "Dude, you gotta stop watching Fox News." .............WHAT!? My reply "Are you seriously accusing me of being a Fox News puppet? Oh lordy this isn't going anywhere. If ever you've proven your political ignorance you just have. You accused the vocal LIBERAL who moved north to a more LIBERAL state of being a Fox News puppet. Done."

People that don't know what they're talking about want Ron Paul to win.
Also, Mitt Romney has the best chance against Obama.
Mitt Romney, however, also has a snowball's chance in Jamaica of being president.

My sister, who will be getting her Doctorate later this year, was sincerely like "Have you looked into Ron Paul?" when I mentioned lolitics at one point late last year.
I told her that all this political stuff scares the shit out of me.
So, as we can see, more school does not mean that you're smarter.

That's evident when you consider that every retarded politician that ends up at the white house graduates from some Ivy League school.
Blanket statement, probably untrue, but I would venture to say it's true for the most part minus a few oddballs.
