You're probably right. But the video creator could very easily have picked a REAL child abuse case and shared that to get the message across. The choice to fabricate some sentimental BS to tug at the viewers' heartstrings makes me loathe them. There's a genuine positive message in there, buried by idiotic execution.
I just find it hard to fathom that such a thing can instill courage in a person. Anyone who had it to begin with wouldn't need the video; they would've stepped up, or at least left an anonymous tip with child services, police, etc. People too spineless or too apathetic to do that don't seem likely to be roused to action by a sentimental video. More likely, the video is there for them to forward to friends and maintain the illusion that they are a good person who makes a positive difference in the world.
There are tons of people who will share or "Like" an activist message. Not many who will act on it.
