Am I some kind of elitist asshole, or are the people I talk to really as stupid as they seem?
I had the displeasure of having a video* shared with me moments ago. To sum up, it's a fictional story of child abuse, told from the perspective of a fictional child. I know it's fictional because of the absurd hyperbolic nature of the whole thing, but I guess some people don't get that.
I kind of need some validation here. Isn't this video, and sharing it as if it means something, a stupid exercise? Child abuse is bad; no shit. I just can't believe someone thinks that by sending a video like this around, people who have witnessed abuse cases would suddenly stand up and do something if they weren't before. What kind of person sees a child being abused, is scared to say anything, but would go to the police or something after seeing a corny video posted by a friend?
Sorry, I guess I'm just frustrated I wasted my time watching that...

This is the video. Watch if you must; I assure you it's not worth the time.
