QUOTE(flint @ Jul 1 2011, 13:25) Oh boy, might go for one of those. If only I could find enough interest. I started so many only to be utterly disappointed. You know when you think you can't judge a manga on its start and want to give it time? I had that so many times, only to waste another two hours waiting for it to get good, finding nothing but chibi frames and kawaii stuff mixed in. I hate that.
Mainly because I think all that is kawaii should die.
I thought Blame! was pretty damn awesome, even with as few words of explanation as it had. Ever given it a read?
I don't know what type of " kawaii" you speak of, but I do quite like Azumanga Daioh. I hate K-on and the like, though. Sketchbook and Yotsubato are like Azumanga Daioh, so if you dislike Azumanga, you'll dislike those. As for Blam!, I'm not that into cyberpunk, as 90% of those tend to disappoint me (I did watch the Original Net Animation, though - I've watched basically everything anime out there, sadly). As for the other stuff I recommended, it's all solid - no chibi, and most of them start good. I normally recommend Onani Master Kurosawa to anyone who is into manga, as it's absolutely splendid (and quite short), and I've yet to meet anyone who disliked it. ABP recommended it to me long ago, and he's yet to give me a bad recommendation. This post has been edited by noahbody: Jul 3 2011, 00:22

QUOTE Summary
"Onani" means masturbation. And that's what this guy is good at. Every day after school, he sneaks into the mostly unused girls bathroom on the 3rd floor, and masturbates. Until one day when he's caught...
This is a story of mistakes, redemption, and the choices made in between. It contains the very worst and best of the human condition. Not... exactly sure whether I want to read that. Doesn't seem all that Seinen to me. I'm currently reading Cradle of Monsters whenever a new chapter comes out. I liked Nijigahara Holograph, too for a change, though it isn't what I normally read. Oh, and by kawaii I mean random instances of unfittingly silly stuff such as the dream sequence in the Hellsing movie. Might not be quite the correct word for it.

So you're deciding not to read/watch something out of Japan solely because of its summary? Some nice quotes from TVTropes: QUOTE
Fate/stay night: A male Ordinary High School Student in love with King Arthur learns about mythology.
Eureka Seven: Disaffected hipsters take on the military by surfing.
Dragon Ball Z: A blonde ape beats up a naked alien on a dead planet after the blonde ape's recently deceased rival killed the Power Rangers.
FLCL: A young boy has disagreements with his new maid.
Bakemonogatari: Japanese teenagers and their homeless friend TALK. A LOT.
CLANNAD: A delinquent meets the sickly daughter of Kamina and Belldandy, and they (re)start a club with his best friend and some other girls.
HunterxHunter: Two boys take an exam; one flunks it and the other barely passes. Then, they go beat up some handicapped people, hang out with gangsters, play an ultra-violent video game, and stomp on an ant colony.
My Neighbor Totoro: Two sisters meet up with several forest spirits, the largest of which becomes a partial Replacement Goldfish for their sick mother.
Neon Genesis Evangelion: Boy rides his mom for father's approval.
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu: Love tetrahedron develops amidst various Twilight Zone-esque Negative Space Wedgies. Existence hangs on the outcome.
Onani Master Kurosawa: An ordinary student finds an unconventional way to dish out justice: masturbating.
I used to make the mistake of only watching anime that sounds good, but that turned out horribly, as I ended up only watching vanilla anime - and we both know we don't watch anime for the vanilla aspect: if it were for that you could watch american series and get the same effect; the fun of anime is the risque aspect of it. Try something new, kid. I assure you, Onani Master Kurosawa is worth it. Plus, we're posting this from a hentai forum, where you have an avatar of disintegrating hands: you can't tell me there's anything about masturbating that offends you now, is there? Laconic?
EDIT: Also, that Eureka Seven thing is win. Mainly because I have a love for the word hipster. But also because Eureka Seven was the first anime I actually got somewhat addicted to.

My favorite is the Evangelion one. Before reading that one my life was incomplete.

I liked the DBZ one. Nothing a blonde ape beating up a naked alien.
Ah, anyways. I'm going with a random one you just mentioned. Thanks for the input, bud.

What is it with Type-Moon and gender-bending? Let's make King Arthur a girl! Why stop there, let's make Caesar a Saber palette-swap! Oh, and how about making Francis Drake a pirate wench who likes GUNS?

Wait, Francis Drake? That from Fate/extra too? I know Caesar is, but I haven't really played Fate/extra on account of me not knowing the mechanics of the game on account of the thing being in frackin' Japanese. They should genderbend Yi SunShin, the greatest hero of the Koreans.

Its one of those bizarro rock-paper-scissors trump mechanics. And its coming out in English later this year. Now I have a reason to emulate PSP.

I just bought a Phat PSP with the latest CFW at the time for $85 before I came back to Korea. One of the best deals ever.
Fate/extra seems kinda meh to me. Granted, it was text-heavy and I spent a shitload of time going through a language I didn't understand, only to die in a battle where I failed to understand the mechanics.
Problem with playing emulated games, in my opinion, is that you tend to wander from place to place. I don't think I've finished a single game on my PSP. I came close to finishing Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology but stopped during the final dungeon. Stopped playing Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2 halfway because fuck that, I want to play it in English. Stopped playing Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords before the final boss for... no real reason at all. And so forth.
I really should get around to finishing at least one game.

I'm fairly sure I'm you from a different dimension, as I have done all of the above, including buying a psp for the same price. I am not as talented, though*. *Don't worry about that, though, as I'm about to do away with my lack of talent: I am currently learning to whistle in French.

It's actually in Monopoly money, but I don't blame you: I myself can't tell the difference between Canadian dollars and toy money.

Canadian money is possibly more lethal in small amounts.

Your grammar is just fine, it's punctuation that is the issue. I'm one to talk, though. I like to spam commas like they're going out of style.
