That reminds me; my friend's been telling me to watch Jamie Oliver's new cooking show. Apparently he goes to America to try and help the schools feed the students better. My friend says he practically had his head in his hands the whole time. Apparently most of the kids had never used a fork in their life and American schools wouldn't let Jamie feed the kids celery because "they weren't real vegetables".

American school food isn't terrible just because we're a country of fatties, but because funding gets cut from schools left and right. As we all know, food that is terrible for you is far cheaper than healthy food and a lot of American schools are forced to pretty much contract their food service out to these for-profit companies because they simply can't afford to hire their own workers or provide better food options.

Lately there's been a trend of politicians using cutting taxes and lowering spending as part of their platforms and once they do get elected, they cut funding from education. What kind of fucktard does that? That's the last place you cut, considering America's standing globally education-wise. And people wonder why America is so fucked. And then there's teaching creationism in school like fact and having evolution taught, even as a theory, is a constant court battle.

.....What School in America doesn't have forks/had kids that haven't ever had forks? I always remember getting a fork and spoon.... no knife though for safety reason (at least in the ghetto school I was in lol)
