I absolutely hate the Tales fanbase. Obnoxious fanbases in general are the norm, but it astounds me how one fanbase can simultaneously exhibit the worst traits of the Fallout, Earthbound, and Kingdom Hearts fandoms without self-destructing itself.

It might sound elitist, but I'm very happy that my knowledge of Japanese is good enough (and growing) to play imported JRPGs. With an English fanbase this bad, I'm entirely willing (and hopeful) that Namco will eventually abandon the US fans altogether and keep the series in Japan. At least the Japanese community spends more of their time doing MAD videos and drawing porn of the characters, rather than bitching about the latest game not being Symphonia version 3, or suckling Team Destiny's cock with a fervor I haven't even seen FF7 fanboys manage.

The only thing I'm really despondant about regarding Tales is that the Destiny remake didn't make it here. That thing looked fucking tight. Tight enough for me to use the term "tight" to describe it.

Speaking of Apple, I think they had some great ideas and good concepts and some of their software is top-notch, but frankly their hardware is utter rubbish and their business model is insulting. Also, Steve Jobs is an egomaniac. The Woz is much more fun, but that's probably because he has nothing to do with Apple any more though he's technically still on the payroll.

Nintendo and their crazy wingnut screws? I can't even fucking clean the L button my DS because of the things, so I can't even use it. Its not like I even play that many games.

It's very good, I'll grant you. If you aren't terrified of importing, it's actually a very import-friendly game; Destiny has a very simple, visual story, the button scheme is anything but complex, and just about everything in the menus are written in easy-to-learn Katakana and typically are accompanied by pictures or easily-distinguishable icons. The most complex the game ever really gets is figuring out a few of the nuances of the post-game dungeon, and even that is pretty simple/intuitive once you've delved into it once or twice.

But it's not perfect, and Team Destiny have some really stupid ideas about what constitutes 'fun' in terms of random battles. But tell that to a typical Tales 'fan', and they'll foam at the mouth and call you a neanderthal. It's especially funny to see the hypocrisy on Vesperia OVL being broken despite it being a slightly different CC System, and people bashing the resemblance between Flynn Scifo and Guy Cecil as 'Kosuke Fujishima sucks', then giggling insanely at how similar Inomata's designs for Woodrow and Veigue are, because she's obviously poking fun at herself.

tl;dr - If you really want to play Destiny Remake, import it. It's very good, and easy to learn/play compared to most import games.

If your shoulder buttons don't work on a DS (or at least a DS Lite), they're probably just jammed with dirt/lint/etc from being transported in a pocket. There are tutorials around (many of them on YT) that explain how to easily clean them out. I'd post a few, but most YT videos of this nature are done by people with annoying voices or poor presentation.

It's very simple. It's a Nintendo product. Blowing on it at the right angle/in the right position almost always works. Stupid as it sounds, I blew the dirt out of my shoulder buttons like 4-5 months ago, and they haven't given me any trouble since.

Of course, if your buttons don't work for more technical reasons, sorry for wasting your time. The wingnut screws are really hard to work with.

I've seen them and tried them. Its definitely a busted button. Sometimes my R button wigs out, but a good blow gets it going again.

I'm not gonna lie, I do like Mutsumi Inomata's art style better than Kosuke Fujishima's.
