QUOTE(Anto of the Sand @ Oct 6 2010, 10:38) My internet is full of fuck.
Now in macro form: (IMG:[ i53.tinypic.com] http://i53.tinypic.com/14acgn.jpg) QUOTE(Isis86 @ Oct 6 2010, 12:00) Why not water is delicious
Not all water is delicious. Some taste downright nasty while others taste refreshing. QUOTE(Tenseigamoon @ Oct 6 2010, 15:27) Well, if you press Preview Post, it refreshes the page and you can look down and see if someone posted before you, but sometimes you think you're the only one in the thread and then someone swoops in and out before you know it.
Unless I'm multi-quote replying, I usually use Quick Reply.

I don't like Quick Reply, or as it's known here, Fast Reply.

I wonder if Final Fantasy VII were competently translated and localized if it would be much better.
Then I get it through my head that it would have had to be well-written in the first place.

Then you aren't well versed in the genre, I take it.

Maybe not, I dunno'. It's definately my favourite. Love its balance, music, locations and artistic style. Characters could've been better, I'll admit that.

"Balance"? Sure? Whatever that means in Mick speak.
The story is absolutely abysmal and the typographical, grammatical and punctuation errors exacerbates the issue.

I like the story. And by balance, I meant how it never got too dark or sappy for too prolonged a period.

Except that it tries its hardest to get heavy and dark the first time you reach Nibelheim and lasts until the end of the fucking game.
But to say it's the best RPG ever made has to exclude that 13 years of advancement in the genre and the general field of video game production have happened since the initial release.
And that would be stupid.

Yeah, you've probably only played those two.
That's the only explanation.

I've played IV, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XII, Dragon Quest: JotCK, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Fallout 3, Pokèmon Blue, Red, Yellow, Silver. That's all I can remember right now.

Considering JRPGs: Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, the Tales of series, at least as far as gameplay goes, Tales series' stories suck terribly. Lunar: The Silver Star and Eternal Blue are excellent. Phantasy Star IV.
Otherwise Fallout 1 and 2, Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect are great and Planescape: Torment is almost impeccable.
ADDENDUM: Yeah, so nothing good.

I've heard Dragon Age and Mass Effect are quite good. I've been wanting to try them for a while now. I still don't know why we need a seperate group for the Japanese games though.

Completely different ideologies. Western stress free will, Japanese stress linearity.

I'm tempted to try solving Marvin's resistor problem. I'm posting this in a different Last Thing You Thought thread to avoid looking at it.

No, I didn't,
Since I've not played them, I can't consider them good.
