For surviving? I lived in a house surrounded by family that loved me and could provide shelter and food and a decent public education until I grew to an age where I could legally join the work force. At this point I began saving money to move out so I could provide for myself, began searching for a person with whom to share my life with and possibly procreate a child wherein I shall start the cycle anew.

You mean to tell me that, not a single time in all of your life or in to someone of your friends a girl that knows that you (or him) are engaged in a relationship decides that she wants to end that relationship out of spite (Girl knows your girlfriend and hates her guts) or a simple whim?
