Mags first met Dragontamer at the gentlemen’s club during a nightly excursion-ah yes, to play chess and discuss philosophy at this club for men.
Dragontamer was a young lad from a humble background on a scholarship. He was determined to make his people proud, but he was unsure of his other preferences, preferences for intellectual pursuit that made him an outcast back home.
Few would speak on intellectual matters as he did, they did not take well to erudition. Fed up with a culture of repetitive slang, Dragontamer knew his heart lay in other crowds and companionship with other men his age.
Mags during his long haul 20 hour train rides to the English countryside would take no sleeping partners in his cabin, a private man he shared little in his joys with others but opened his door to Dragontamer's company.
Such a sad parting was it when they went their separate ways after a mutual disagreement over the aerodynamics behind aerial bombardment.
But they rekindled an exchange of letters. “Oh my dearest Mags, to return to my living quarters and not see you there with our nightly rounds of wine and song, I can only compare it to widower’s bereavement.””
Mags went on to become the head of a boys choir and would forever fondly remember those days he spent with Dragontamer who now serves in Ukraine as a humanist Chaplain.
