- Move further away from urban center - Start with an apartment** - Aim for good credit score, and 20% deposit to get better interest rates
**Need to be careful with apartments, new apartments are often trash tier in multiple countries. Apartments less than five levels, and do not have flammable cladding generally are safer. Also need to be in a decent location where they are also not spamming 100s of apartments. Buying off the plan is super risky in many countries.
Prices are screwed up where I am, most likely due to local and foreign investors. My apartment cost double what a four bedroom house on a decent block cost back in 2010 before we allowed massive investment into housing from a certain country in proximity of China.
You guys seem relatively intelligent, so I was wondering how many EsotericSatires does it take to figure out what 1 lube bottle + 1 guy times 2 cameras equal.
The answer is 73. Guy plus lube bottle and camera is 15
There are 4 cameras, 24/4 = 6
15 - 6 = 9
There are 6 bottles of lube, 12/6 = 2
9 - 2 = 7
Order of operations is multiplication first, dude plus 2 cameras is 7 x 12 = 84
Bottle of lube is 2. 84 + 2 = 86
Since I'm basically retarded, it would take 1/10 of a Catman to figure this out.
IF you interpret the first line as 3m + 9l + 3c = 45
Then the final answer is probably 38. What if holding means multiplication or to the power of? Does stacked mean multiplication or to the power?
Its not clear and the trick is just representing things in a stupid way.
what if the first line is 3m^((3l)c) = 45? "we made it so it doesn't solve cleanly the other ways so you must interpret it the first way" Its like how they keep changing how Math is taught but math literacy keeps falling.
We are decolonizing math by adding 100 steps and diagrams and shit.
funny joke, but in the left hand one the teacher is explaining stuff and in the right one the person already knows what to do.
I still think the right method might be easier because that's what I was taught. But it is a purposely faulty comparison.
There are tricks when multiplying by five (divide the number being multiplied by five by two and add a zero/move the decimal rightwards). So by breaking things down into multiple operations like that it actually makes a modicum of sense for certain mental calculations the way my brain works. Unfortunately it's still a shit method to use for a general application and has a lot of steps to remember when you're breaking things down into fives and tens and adding a remainder like in this video.
I am an advocate of "new thing bad, old thing good" in most situations, this one included. Just in this instance can see some slight merit for the "new thing" in specialized circumstances. Multiplications by ten, five, and two are usually the easiest for me to do.
Then again I like reverse polish notation for math (makes parentheses completely unnecessary), so I may be retarded. And I firmly believe Common Core must die.
The way I would do 35 * 12 mentally is:
35 * 2 = 70
35 * 10 = 350
35 + 7 = 42
350 + 70 = 420
35 * 12 = Blaze it
Trying to generalize anything like this into a "this always works" methodology/solution usually results in something that is optimizable for many cases and generally unweildy like the left hand video. It also depends on understanding the underlying concept and a more intuitive understanding of number theory (which is how I knew 35 * 2 = 70 instantly), something that was generally lacking in my classes.
