How not to ask people to stop sharing your stuff. (IMG:[ i.imgur.com] https://i.imgur.com/rBopHqB.png) Also, that site doesn't let you specify people you want to import from. Which I sometimes think is regrettable. But that's just why I don't import very frequently... I want people to be able to access (and ARCHIVE) things, but I'm not trying to be a dick about it unless you piss me off. To be clear I do not back this person, just stumbled onto this post. Probably won't, if they have an attitude like that. People who leak once a year for instance ( like me) let you build up months and months' worth of posts to hold behind your annoying paywall. [ en.wikipedia.org] Samizdat isn't bad. Not everyone is in a position to support everyone they want to, but it lets them engage with artists/writers/whatever anyway and be influenced by them. Especially for people who don't post low-res versions of images publicly (who have 'exclusives',) I see it as almost essential. It's been said before, but people who access leaked content aren't the ones who are going to be giving you money anyway (except for sometimes, when I've actually done that because I want to support what they're doing). It's pretty amazing when you think about the likely status of the Russian military. Back in February, Western commentators were repeating the conventional wisdom that Russia had about 1m active troops, and was only projecting 20% of its forces into Ukraine. Everything we've seen over the ensuing 7 months has gradually added up to the picture that Russia was lying about their troop strength by about 5:1, they sent their *entire* military into Ukraine except for a skeleton staff, leaving only their reputation and their alleged nuclear capability to protect their borders; they've been picking the bones of that skeleton ever since, and the Russian military is now ~90% defeated, with the remaining ~20k troops critically exhausted.
If they still had 800k troops elsewhere (or any), the green recruits from mobilization would be sent to backfill them instead, and the experienced troops would be rotated into Ukraine, giving the recruits more time to train. This has not been happening.
If they'd had 800k troops elsewhere, the forces in Ukraine would have been regularly rotated out to give them a chance to rest. That also never happened.
From the unit patches on killed & captured troops, we know they sent men from the strategic rocket forces to the front, i.e. the nuke guys, everyone they had in uniform. Also the trainers from the training units, so they don't have anyone left to train the conscripts.
The wounded-to-killed ratio for modern wars is typically about 2:1 to 4:1. Russia's in this conflict is on the low end, at 2:1, because they have no medical infrastructure and they abandon their comrades on the battlefield; it's lower because more of the wounded don't survive. Ukraine's estimate for Russians killed is now 60k, which implies 180k killed or wounded out of an initial force of 200k. You may say that's inflated, but it looks ballpark plausible because the remaining Russian forces are collapsing at this point, with UKR advancing 20km a day in one area, 30km a day in another. Any remaining Russian forces are not in good shape. And what about the initial Russian inflation of 5x, which is difficult to deny at this point?
It would be fine with me if it never happens, but if Putin is going to launch a nuke, it would be about now. He could fire a nuclear-armed Iskander into Odesa, and in the shock that follows, declare, "Ok, now you surrender the country, or we nuke Kiev. The war is over." Instead, NATO would likely launch a massive conventional strike to destroy all remaining Russian nuclear & other military assets, which we track closely. We've quietly built up a multilayered missile defense system for Russian ICBMs, and we have submarines tailing their nuclear missile submarines; however, a nuke or two might get through. The media is deliberately not talking about it because they don't want us to back down. We can't really back down, or else Putin would continue the nuclear blackmail. If you live near a primary target, now would be an excellent time to take an extended vacation in the sticks.
In the aftermath, we could expect China to take a huge slice off of demilitarized Russia, as a cheaper alternative to invading Taiwan.

Is Corona still a thing? I always read about the next big wave in the news but nothing changed really. How many waves did we have already? Is wave 3192 incoming this autumn?
Happy boosting, folks.

Yes, it is a thing. Not sure about if I'm gonna boost or just keep wearing my goddamn mask (I never stopped; I'm the only one in my immediate family who has not (to my knowledge) gotten 'rona yet.) Just put a rotating picture in my signature (page loads will shuffle the image you get). I think this one is my favorite. Currently, there are 40 total. (IMG:[ i.imgur.com] https://i.imgur.com/EApNCxT.png) If my avatar wasn't (IMO) perfection already, this would be it instead. This one's another contender. (IMG:[ i.postimg.cc] https://i.postimg.cc/K8bkTdBt/mpv-shot0010-crop-224.png) Red-eyed anime tomboys from the 80's are going to be the death of me. I think the problem was supply chains, Russian supply chains and equipment etc were stripped bare by Russians before the war. I was surprised that so much of their equipment broke down, then they got slapped in the face when all the military surplus equipment and parts they bought from China started breaking down too. Their own military production capacity also seems to be a lot lower than expected. I think the outcome of this war is that Russia and Ukraine will lose no matter what. Russia just lost its pipelines (do people believe they blew up their own number 1 bargaining chip when they can just shut off the gas) and the Ukraine is saddled with 60 years of debt that can only be repaid by selling everything. The 'aid' that the west has given them was in return for all their productive land. If we are truly aiding them, shouldn't we forgive the debt. Its partly why they want to join EU and NATO. Why are we aiding Ukraine with high interest debt? I think China is trying to isolate and weaken Russia either to secure their oil resources to land. CCP is always trying to formulate win / win scenarios. It might have backfired a bit with their economy indirectly also going towards recession due to their policies though. I feel all countries are racing each other to see who can destroy themselves first at the moment. Did covid have vast neurological effects that we are not aware of yet? Every countries seems to be going full retard lately. Its hard to find any country that you can point to and go 'oh hey, they are doing well and have good policies' at the moment. As far as I can remember that isn't normal. QUOTE(Waitugreat @ Oct 2 2022, 16:17) Is Corona still a thing? I always read about the next big wave in the news but nothing changed really. Unlike other related viruses it seems to mutate extremely rapidly, which would make it great for a research virus. This post has been edited by EsotericSatire: Oct 3 2022, 12:29

I for one think Don Lemon quitting CNN to play Legolas who kills white Jan 6 protestors dressed as orcs in Rings of Power was a brilliant career move.
