I visited my mom the other day at her nursing home. As I walked in, a staff member informed me that she had fell the day previous. It's policy that they call to let me know when she falls, and they wrote it off as an 'oversight' as to why I was never notified. They said she fell and hit the railing of her bed. When I seen her, she had 2 black eyes.
I like to imagine she fell, and to catch herself she balled her hands into fists and thrusted them forward. Then landed with her face slamming into her fists, like punching herself right in both eyes.
