They seem to be favorable because of being able to work from home I imagine and the economic conditions have not yet affected them or they are paranoid about the poors being infected with Covid.

What if they're planning to fire or sideline the at least three quarters who aren't democrats, because they're afraid of them and don't trust them, and then use the remainder to enforce military rule at home? The only Afghan immigrants I've seen in my city opened a restaurant, then it mysteriously became arsoned when it didn't get enough business. The Afghans collected insurance successfully citing it was hate crime or homeless that arsoned their restaurant (normally, insurance doesn't pay out for arsons).

That is the white house narrative spin. Some military people have come out to clarify:
1. The military were not given authorisation to hold key strategic points that would allow a controlled withdrawal like Bagram airfield. They pulled out over night without coordinating with western or Afghan allies. This airfield in particular was critical to the original plan to keep the Taliban in check to force the two sides to negotiate and to have a safe withdrawal.
2. The withdrawal date was pushed back from May to Sept 11 without re-negotiation in order to have a feel good narrative in the media about 'making hope and history rhyme' which is bullshit that Biden loves. Someone must have been feeding him bullshit because he was quoted as saying that they still had until December to withdraw everyone. Or he just potato'd and got mixed up.
3. 88% of US funding to rebuild Afghanistan went to US contractors... When the US contractors were withdrawn in the dead of night the Afghan forces could not operate. US and Afghan corruption at its finest. Biden's admin had been receiving intel since July that this would not work.
4. We saw exactly this happen in Iraq, it was completely predictable. It was so predictable that Bin Laden said that if Biden was ever president that exactly this would happen. Bin Laden believed that Joe Biden was a completely incompetent potato and they should do everything possible to make him president. In fact it made Obama a bigger president as they saw it as a huge opportunity to destroy the US if they killed him and Biden became president. "Biden is totally unprepared for that post, which will lead the US into a crisis' - Osama Bin Laden.
Yes, its not good that the Afghan forces surrendered but they were an incomplete force that was dependent on US intelligence and air superiority. The majority of their operations relied on US contractors as well. When the US withdrew over night, they just assumed that they had lost the war and surrendered.
Last but not least; the Taliban seized the airport before the last 200 - 1k Americans could be withdrawn. Thousands of Afghan allies were left behind after Biden gave the Taliban a list of all of them....
Media: Complete success, anyone left behind wanted to stay there. (State department told them not to attempt to get to the airport as Taliban controlled all the entry points).
State department afterwards confirmed 350 Americans left behind had requested to be evacuated.
