iphone users are using safari, even if they're using chrome.
But ignoring the whole iOS problem, when talking about other platforms:
edge users are just using chrome with lipstick.
brave users are just using chrome with lipstick.
opera users are just using chrome with lipstick.
vivaldi users are just using chrome with lipstick.
I'm sure I've missed some big ones still.

Because all browsers are equally chrome, except for firefox, but firefox is just as terrible because Mozilla wants it to be chrome and also consistently fails to make decisions that would help it maintain a niche as a browser for people who know better.

More accurately, it regularly flips off its most loyal users.

I gave up on all the garbage mainstream browsers a long time ago and use Pale Moon.

Still using the same old mozzarella gecko engine.

Seamonkey, here. It also still uses the old style addons and stuff. It's more like the old mozilla suite /netscape communicator UI though.

I switched to firefox because the latest hentaiverse scripts work better on it than palemoon.

There are a few things that work better in Firefox so I still keep it but use Pale Moon as my main browser. They use the old Firefox platform before it became fucked up.

Mozilla may be forced to comply simply because the corporate sponsors that give it money are in turn forced by anti-privacy and anti-hate groups to comply. For example, some youtube channels have lost 100% of the corporate advertisers for being critical of China. LAOWHY86 is someone that lived in China for quite a few years and he even married a Chinese doctor. He's traveled across China and posted video diaries of the adventures. He made some non-positive comments and had to leave China for safety. Once he left, he started to make stronger comments that he felt he couldn't comment while he lived in China. When he did that, youtube started demonetizing his videos and also corporations told youtube that they didn't want their ads appearing on his channel.

I don't think that anti-hate groups are responsible for mozilla making Mozilla kill off old-school addons, integrating Pocket, or making bad UI changes.

I think that is all attributable to bad (overly liberal) software design philosophy rather than social liberalism. I have no doubt Mozilla is performatively liberal (see also: what happened to Brendan Eich), but while Eich's ousting can be attributed to this, the new management's performative wokeness has no direct causal linkage to software engineering philosophy/the existance of Pocket and WebExtensions/the ruination of Android Firefox/the increasingly reduced configurability of the browser.

I don't think that is accurate, performative woke in corporate culture is about hiring the cheapest employees that are attracted to particular slogans rather than money. They are not necessarily the best employees. Eventually when the work place becomes completely toxic all the most marketable employees jump ship to better jobs then it becomes an exponential slide and profitability drops no matter how much costs are cut.
