Disney is not longer a company with "old fashioned" values. Solely exists as piggy bank for politically motivated hacks.
Plus aesthetics and meritocracy are of no concern either. Without competition there's no incentive to provide a better product. This wasn't the case a few years back. Kyo-ani in that sense is different. Japan is way more "old fashioned" and far more capitalistic/open for competition. Even if they foolishly embraced "stimulus" policies over the years that crashed and then stagnated the economy.
Capitalism has nothing to do with anything since both Japan and America are in the same boat, and if anything Disney Studios resides in commiefornia which is pretty anti-capitalistic. Commiefornia has been the capital for bleeding residents and businesses years now. Plus America as a whole depends more on debt and the dollar as world reserve currency and to buy petroleum than ever before. This makes us less capitalistic than Japan.
America as a whole has been on a down spiral towards more government, corporatism, cronism, protectionism, bigger deficits, debt and redistribution of wealth in multiple forms. It's easy to blame America's decay on the profit motive though. But it's probably better explained through Yuri Bezmenov, the arms industrial complex, intelligence services, shitty education, shitty media, etc.

Japanese works at their best are characterized by "makoto", at their worst are flavorless or laughably stupid (seldom repulsive like western "art") So where does bad taste fit in? Is it a result of the above mentioned conditions or one of the causes? (or both or neither?)
I've said the "west of Poland" is becoming ugly, and I heard a Russian colleague lament there is a serious lack of "aesthetics" or character overtaking the western world. (I've made a case this has affected sexual and behavioral selection).
