QUOTE(Lolicon_of_Sin @ Apr 1 2014, 13:39) Okay. I'm not sure if you even intended to respond to my post, but that has absolutely jack shit to do with what I said lol.
Maybe, maybe not. I have an uncle who born in 1945 and he was always against computers, 'cause he was with the idea that he's not part of the new generation (back then) and poker game & engineering were his final occupations. Surprisingly though he found some interests at online gaming in 2012, he bought a laptop & learned all the basics in less than 3 months. Considering a man who started PC from 67 I've come to realization that people who complaining about "new generations and they don't belong to it, yada yada..." it's because they are in age that got lazy in mind that they don't accept some new mentality & things, not because they can't but because they lack the will to do so. So again, boredom might be the culprit.

Err, it's not like I actively refuse to be part of this new wave of internet culture. I just genuinely find the new trend in internet humor lame. On further reflection though, I've kinda started to feel that way ever since the whole trollface lel 9gag bullshit. So my feeling is not that recent. But these vine things though, those things are definitely lame. But honestly I still don't understand this supposed connection with boredom.

Just the issue of being part of this new internet "culture", but you've already answered to that so everything's cool. And on a scale of one to ten, how bad is their sense of humor? This post has been edited by BrainSucks: Apr 1 2014, 18:24

QUOTE(Lolicon_of_Sin @ Apr 1 2014, 02:50) You know, this whole "vines" trend on the internet nowadays, I just don't get it. There hasn't been a single one that I ever found even remotely funny. It makes me realize rather clearly how I'm no longer part of the current generation on the rapidly evolving internet. I'm now like some old sack who can't keep up anymore and doesn't get anything.
Have you seen Will Sasso's Lemon Vines? There are some pretty good supercuts of the best ones on Youtube.

As short reaction it's fairly funny, for few seconds at least. This post has been edited by BrainSucks: Apr 1 2014, 19:02

I've come to conclusion that the lame jokes he's talking about are the "safe" ones and that's not the new era of internet, that would be the end of it.

There seems to be a trend toward catering to people with short attention spans. That's why these things were created, along with things like Twitter, Tumblr, etc. Not enough people have the time or desire to sit and watch a longer video or read a full article. Creating content in those ways just isn't cost-efficient when such a big wedge of the potential user base is just looking to kill a few seconds. Plus, if somebody wants to stick around for longer than that, they can just consume more micro-media. This is kind of the natural way things are bound to go when entertainment is treated as a commodity to be mass-produced, traded and consumed; the quicker and cheaper, the better. What 413 said essentially pinpoints it. Too bad that the reaction by people who don't like that trend tends to overcompensatingly awfully obnoxiously long, boring, tangential, wannabe-sarcastic-but-actually-just-angry-and-angsty-and-just-as-unfunny rants, blogs, vlogs and all that other jiggajag

Who were you, then? I know you had a different nick back then.
Now that I think about it, you're that other German dude. That's the name popping up in my head, at least.
