Like he said though, its not the same for everyone. I have actually been sleeping normal schedules and falling asleep within 15 minutes of laying down for a few weeks now, and I use my laptop to help me. I move the laptop to my bed and lay down on my side while watching anime and I always end up passing out before I finish an episode. I'm even interested in the anime I'm watching but somehow I end up falling asleep.

I think in my instance my body is working on reverse psychology where if I feel like I need to do something I'm going to fall asleep. I noticed that I used to sit there late at night watching anime or a movie or something on the laptop and I'd start bobbing for cock, I'd go over to my bed and lay down, dead tired and sure that I would fall asleep, and then I'm laying there in darkness for an hour or more before I got back up again to sit at my desk and watch more shit on my laptop then repeat the process into the wee hours of the morning. Since I started moving my laptop to the bed I can now fall asleep really quick.

Light and sound never are a deal to me at all though, as I can fall asleep with the sun bright in my face (like I did today in a long car ride between states) and bombs going off. It's funny but I've actually come to realize that in absolute darkness with no auditory or visual stimuli it takes me hours to fall asleep once I lay down. My mind gets too busy reprocessing old information and consolidating it for more effective retrieval.

I don't know if it's a military term, but that is where I learned it. Think of a person sitting up or in a similar position as they fall asleep and wake up in a continuous cycle. Their head bobs up and down; down as they fall asleep and snaps back up as they wake up from having their chin hit a low point. Usually induced by a state of extreme fatigue.

EDIT: Also works in the opposite direction when their head is naturally pointing backwards at a state of rest, for example if they are leaning their heads at a slight angle pointed up, as if looking at the sky, and when they lose consciousness the weight of their heads forces it to move down (and back) but as they momentarily regain consciousness they snap back forward for a half of second before repeating the process. It's all about the motion of the head at a natural state of unconscious rest and awareness.
