Hmm... I haven't had pie in years now that I think about it. Not that I was ever one to eat baked goods, ice cream, or anything remotely sweet (besides the occasional banana nut muffins that I buy). I blame poverty and the fact that sugar was a commodity where I grew up in Mexico. By the time I got to the U.S. I wasn't into sweets and poverty only helped to keep those delicious treats out of my mouth. There is one thing that I will admit I find absofuckinglutely delicious and order every time I drop by the place; the moughafuckin' [www.bjsbrewhouse.com] desserts at BJ's.

Sugar isn't the only source of sweetness and being super sweet isn't a requirement for dessert. I can make at least half a dozen desserts that contain less than six ingredients and no sugar. They're all "traditional" desserts from the old country. So instead maybe you should blame Mexico for not being able to make a decent dessert.
