QUOTE(FourThirteen @ Mar 20 2012, 02:52) *

I sighed a little with relief when the video referenced Battle Royale right after that girl said "Oh, it's such an original idea!".

To be fair, though, I shouldn't be expecting high-schoolers to be aware of relatively obscure foreign films from when they were like, 5 or 6.

After watching it all the way through, I'm not sure if I see what the hate is about. Seem like typical high-schoolers to me; a little obnoxious and slightly misinformed, but they seemed genuine enough.

Being genuine is hardly an excuse for being obnoxious and misinformed.

It is when you're still in High School and have a really narrow view of things. You can be disappointed with them because it's expected; you know better. But to expect them to be actually worldly is a bit much.

Took the words right out of my fingers.

It's not a matter of being worldly, though. How hard is it to instill a little quiet dignity in somebody, even at a young age? How worldly do you need to be to figure out that something you like isn't OMG teh bestest thing evar!? I know the kids in that video are a little young to remember Gladiator, or that short story The Lottery (which I was, ironically, forced to read in middle school), but where does that unbridled enthusiasm come from?

I don't know, maybe they're more exhausting than anything else. Anybody who can find shopping at the mall, going to a coffee shop, or taking a shower exciting enough to post to Twitter is clearly somebody I can't keep up with.

I don't think I've ever had the energy for that.

Crippling depression has the slight benefit of making you less obnoxious as a teenager.

Or, well, at least obnoxious in a different way.

I had pan fried noodles for dinner. And second dinner. And now I'm hungry again.

Ice cream ones are great (especially home-made), but I prefer the pizza sandwich (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Compromise.

[www.instructables.com] Pizza cone.

Also, I should play more AoB but I hate Day 1 in HC with crap food. Filling up on fucking flower pies is no fun at all.

Fuck you HC is the only way to play and fuck all the Softcore people who don't have the balls to put themselves through an optional challenge that they might not take due to a difference of opinion on what constitutes a fun game session or simply seek to challenge themselves with a different set of rules.

Has anyone else tried making a sandwich on a bagel? It's my favorite thing to do for lunch. Cold cuts are better on a hot bagel.

Bagels aren't bad, but I'm a flat-bread person.
