Totally missed this thang:

So I guess that chevrolet guy got banned for bragging about test scores? He was an unpleasant person and probably not worth a second thought anyway, but I'm kind of hoping he did something worse that would actually justify his being banned? If people could get banned for being pretentious and/or talking about smoking weed, you'd think more people would be gone by now.
It's not so much the subject matter that was the problem, it's the way that the douchecocker went about relaying how it was happening. Similar, in a way, to how T. Rap Star Jones goes about his discussions of fighting games like they matter.
Also, it's really, really annoying when people try to be jerkoffs when we have no baseline for their jerkoffocity. Were they joking or were they being sincere when discussing their illicit consumptions, or their low/moderate intellect (an IQ of 139 isn't very impressive by any measure and MENSA allows anyone at or above the 98th percentile, which isn't hard since the minimum IQ allowed, not that it matters, is 132). I scored at a near genius level at Grade 7, and I rarely tell anyone because it's fucking retarded to bring up, only my family, very recently including my wife, and the doctor that scored the test knew of this before I made this post. Why? Because people treat you differently when that kind of knowledge gets out. They want you to help them with this task or that even if it isn't in your legerdemain.
Another reason? Because one expects others to treat them differently when that kind of knowledge gets out if you put any credence on it. And that, I feel, is far more dangerous. The sheer fact of the matter is, societally, no one really cares. When one finds out no one cares and they've built it up in their own stupid head they're prone to outrageous outbursts like what was displayed in that thread.
Additionally, bringing up the consumption of cannabis for no reason is a real douchey, brotastic thing to do. Being bombastic about such a thing is typically frowned upon
anywhere unless you are a worthless failure and find that kind of activity fruitful. Once again, because no one really cares. This isn't a community
for that type of thing.
Now, the thing I find most hilarious about it is that I was willing to give the little polesmoker the benefit of a doubt and see if they could be molded into someone that could fit into this, dare I say, hall of kings. I felt that, although brash, they might have been unjustly assailed by those worthless pantywastes in Vigilante.
I was mistaken.
And this, honestly, is the reason that I don't really give newbies a chance, because, more likely than not, within the first ten posts a user submits on a forum, you can tell their character. You can find their personal tone. Their way of writing, interacting and all that fun stuff. And frankly, I don't want stupid assholes like that poking their idiot heads in here and ruining the experience that I have cultivated for myself.
Yes, perhaps a bit selfish, but before anyone responds like an asshat, ask yourself, would chevelle's presence here really have improved the community? Would it have been boon or bane?
