1. Girl goes out with guy she thinks is perfect. Then complains to me about him all the time and says he's mentally abusive.
2. Girl breaks up with guy after he makes her cry.
3. Girl goes back out with guy a day later and says they talked about it.
4. Girl breaks up with guy another day later and says he was still the same asshole that made her cry.
5. Girl acts motivated to better her life and become independent.
6. Girl goes out with same guy again and proceeds to tell me how fun it was to go out drinking with him last night.
What...the...fuck!?
Humans are creatures of habit. She has grown accustomed to him, and has deluded herself she can change his "abusive" ways. I would also question the validity of her claims about this mental abuse. I know this may sound sexist but I have yet to meet a woman who does not employ hyperbole when discussing their partner. If you fancy her then just make moves on her. Most women in this scenario will just yo-yo to the same partner while they wait for someone 'better' to come along. If she isn't your type then you can practice on the fine art of tuning people out because in this case, you will be hearing the same story for a long long time. It will be hilarious when she announces he has proposed if he hasn't already.

Go gay and you'll be okay. Lot's of nice gay guys in Mass. You shouldn't have any trouble finding yourself a nice one.
